Columbus Bishop Hartley @ Gallia Academy
Re: Columbus Bishop Hartley @ Gallia Academy
I cant wait to see the look on Biship Hartleys players faces when they get off the bus and see the field. After MFL games and more rain this week, the mud will be just how we like it,LOL. Go Blue!!!!!
Re: Columbus Bishop Hartley @ Gallia Academy
Hartley is falling apart, but they still have enough to get by the Blue Devils.
Ready will destroy them.

Re: Columbus Bishop Hartley @ Gallia Academy
Didn't know Gallia's outstanding senior Kyle Dingess, leading pass receiver and one of the team's top defensive player, sat out last night's game.
Understand he became ill before the game, went to the hospital for a checkup, came back in the third period and dressed, but did not get into the game.
Get well for Bishop Hartley. the team needs you!

JMO But I think we need the field to be a mud bath again. Its suppose to start raining wednesday and I think there's a game thursday. That ought to chew-up the field even more.
Congrat BLUE on your victory last friday!!!!

gahs4ever wrote:Opening of Andrew Carter's excellent recount of GAHS' 27-10 victory over Chillicothe on Homecoming as written in the Sunday Times Sentinel:GALLIPOLIS — Drenched in sweat, caked with mud and overflowing with emotion, Mike Eddy trudged out of the quagmire also known as Memorial Field to ring the victory bell following Gallia Academy’s 27-10 win over Chillicothe on Friday night.
The rookie head coach had tears in his eyes as he and the Blue Devils and the vocal horde that is the GAHS student section made their way toward the bell; the students chanting “Eddy! Eddy! Eddy!†to celebrate his first victory as head coach and the Devils’ first win of 2009.
“Oh, this feels so good,†Eddy said just seconds prior to ringing the bell. “These kids have worked so hard and been through so much. They never gave up. They deserve this.
“Hey, I gotta go ring that bell!â€
I cant even type this without tears in my own eyes. Coach, Ive told you several times since you arrived in Gallipolis that I believe in you and what you are doing. Even a blind man can see and appreciate that. Thanks for investing your life in our community, school and kids! We are the better for your coming!
Ya'll hang on to that coach!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh yea!!!!
Way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Columbus Bishop Hartley @ Gallia Academy
Hartley by 2 or 3 scores. Two good RBs and a passing game. Their D is solid.
Re: Columbus Bishop Hartley @ Gallia Academy
Hoping the SEOAL gives a good showing in this one.
Go Blue

Re: Columbus Bishop Hartley @ Gallia Academy
gahs4ever, "cautiously optimistic" is a good description of my feel for this game.
Anything could happen, a BH win or a GAHS win.
BH could win by a blowout.
If the Blue Devils win, it will probably be a close game.

Food for thought.... Nice article about the victory bell.. What is the history of the bell? I am sure Jottings can shed some light on this mysterious bell....

I have done some research on bishop hartley, they are very fast and very well coached.I think the one kid has amost 900 yards at this point in the season.their defense is the strong point of this team. But they flat run the ball at you.
The team has amassed 21 sacks for the year which is a pretty high number.
Div 4 ranked 5th record of 5W-1L
Key Players:
#11 Alex Heinmiller DE/WR 5.5 Sacks
#12 Austin Underwood QB 60att. 34comps
#44 Noah Key RB 127carries-877yards

Tall task i think but Good Luck Devils!!

Remember what happened last year when St.Peter Chanel came to Federal Hocking!
Re: Columbus Bishop Hartley @ Gallia Academy
The key skill players for BH all seem to be in the 175-180 lb range.
It is probable that they are very athletic.
Rain Rain don't go away.

The victory bell was previously located at the top of the steps of the old swimming pool off 4th Ave., and was used for pep rallies on the old pool steps. I think it was moved to Memorial Field around 1970 when Ecker's wreckers won the SEOAL title with an unbeaten record.
