Green is Grand Champion at Ironton band competition.. Oct.10

Congratulations to Green High School Band as they won best band overall at Ironton....... Grand Champions!
Outstanding perfomance... Coach Edwards is doing a tremendous job as Director....
They perform next Saturday at the prestigious Morehead State Competition.....Best of luck, Green..

Finishing second was Sycamore High School (Cincinnati).. 134 members..
Third place went to South Point Band.. 65 members

I, for one, am proud of all the area bands....and......enjoy watching and hearing them..

I was there and I hate to say it but the band from Cincy was better than Green, don't know what the judges was looking for but anyway, congrats to all bands and to Ironton for putting on a great competition.

They (Hickory) were very good... a lot bigger, but not better, imho....

A lot of hard work goes in to getting ready for these competitions, and you can certainly see the results in the performances of the bands.

Green was alright, but Sycamore was much much better. I thought I kinda smelled a little bit of homecookin', but its cool.

I was there too. Sycamore gave a great performance, but so did Green. Honestly, I also thought South Point was better than Sycamore's band as well. Here's why...Green and South Point's shows revolve around their music and marching. Sycamore's show revolved around their marching and percussion. Maybe the judges picked up on that.
