OVC 2010 Predictions and thoughts

Fairland lost great pitching, but after watching Thackston pitch some for Ashland Legion this summer and reaching six foot, he has a good fastball that is reaching 80 plus and a nasty curve-slider. Plus the most important part is he is a lefty. As for the other pitcher Fairland has,Chad Fisher, would have been the number 1 or 2 on all of the ovc teams last year. They wont be talked about this year at first but Fairland has reloaded for another OVC run. Sp and Cg doesnt have 2 pitchers like Fairlands 1-2 punch. Dickess is good but Thackston is better and smarter. The only problem I can see is experience on the mound for Fairland. Rock Hill has to be the favorite with alot coming back. Fairland will have to earn respect like in the past, but they will be eyeing another ovc title.

Dickess throws 83 or 84? What? He is a very good pitcher but Thackston has more upside with velocity and curve ball. He was in 70's last year but he has gotten taller and bigger and I was told he hit above 80 over the summer. I have seen Dickess throw and he is NOT in the 80's. Tyler's little bro name is Alex,by the way. Since you know so much about him.

Look, both Dickess and Thackston throw well, Dickess has the upper hand on experience. But the fact remains that their teams have to produce runs in order to win.

dickess hits 86... seen him do it personally. and me no i dont throww 88 lucky too get 65 on a good day hahaha. and homeruns... not unless i do some serious weight lifting. made the team. i had grades 3.0 average. but just not as good as squinks post. as for dickess, he can get 83, or 84 and higher. just not to much higher. and as for doesnt give it his all everytime, he does. and he lets people know it.

we will see when Alex gets rocked....and it doesnt matter how tall and strong you are if you have bad mechanics your jus gonna be hurting your arm in the long run...when dickess is pitching there not gonna lose a game

Squinks you are crazy no way Dickess throws in the 80's also I was told by several SP followers that he wouldn't hit anybody in football. In other words he didn't give it his all and had very little heart. Mind you this came straight from guys who followed the pointers . I know these men and I trust their observation.

Bucking Red, you are right-Dickess is not in the 80's. He ha no clue what he is talkin about. And he says alex mechanics are bad, that tells me right there he hasnt even seen him pitch. Dickess is a pretty good pitcher(well the best SP has) ........ Have you heard if Bloomfield is playing?

Since when does football come into a conversation about pitching speed and mechanics??? And sp will win everygame that dickess starts in... who's gonna hit one off him?

In comes into play when squinks said that Dickess gives his all in all sports. I'm just repeating what I heard from some Sp people and I trust their judgement. I think Dickess is a pretty good ball player . I just doubt he throws that hard.

The fact that people still doubt that Dickess throws that hard amazes me... But if people really do doubt him then I'm ready too see some suprised looks this season when they find out he does.

Yea agreed, I've seen the Adkins kid throw, but it's been a while. He is his own worst enemy. Has the talent but does he have the desire? Been told by some SP fans that he isn't playing this year.

adkins is a good pitcher and one of my friends and i talked to him bout baseball and he has the attitude like he doesnt care anymore ...which is gonna hurt the pointers in pitching.......he might not make grades

I knew he didn't have it in him. So much talent at SP wasted by laziness.
What is this I hear about 1/2 the team not being eligible?

its true mcclure,adkins,winkler are on the bubble but there f's are like really close to d's....and speak for yourself on laziness not all of the sp players are lazy

kyle didnt even wanna play football, his family and friends begged him. he didnt want to take a chance to reinjure his back for a team that went 1-9. if you ask him the only reason he played was to get in shape for the baseball season. he also didnt wanna play basketball but again was begged and did so he wouldnt be lazy in the off season. notice he quit right before baseball conditioning. me personally i wouldnt play my heart and risk getting hurt for a sucky team either. id better myself for the sport i love. kyle also says hes not playing football next year its a waste of time. the fans and players hate the coach, so why spend hours practicing, for something that will never work.
