Re: SOC2 2010 Predictions and thoughts
First off, I am happy and excited to be back into coaching. Secondly, the SOC is as deep and good as I have seen it for quite some time. It will be one of the toughest conferences in Southern Ohio Again. I look forward to seeing a lot of my old friends as well as some new faces. Good luck this year and I look forward to seeing you all at the "ol ballpark" in 2010.

And the rest fall in whatever order they fall.

Re: SOC2 2010 Predictions and thoughts
I think that Wheelersburg will win it again. Valley will be good.
Re: SOC2 2010 Predictions and thoughts
I still think that it will be a close race between Waverly, Wheelersburg, and Valley. Northwest and Minford both have the talent to come up from behind and sneak up if not watched.
Re: SOC2 2010 Predictions and thoughts
IMO I believe the Top 3 should be Burg, Valley and Waverly in no particular order. This should be a Valley year having a very young team the last two seasons. Waverly lost a couple top players, but return a solid roster as well.
For Burg, it will be hard for them to replace the 3 and 4 hole hitters from 2009 in Hopper and White, but they should be pretty solid both offensively and defensively. They have top pitcher in the league in Elliott, with Luster and Bryce Hall solid on the mound as well. Look for Kemper, Luster, and/or Parsley to fill in at the 3 and 4 hole. Only 3 starting positions to fill from departing seniors at LF, CF and 1B. Should be another solid season for the Pirates. Look for starters to be Leach at C, Elliott and Luster at SS/P, Kemper at 2B and/or CF, O'Leary at 2B, Bryce Hall at 1b, Brandon Hall at 3B, Parlsey in RF.

I really don't think Roback will be going to Cincy now. I don't know if Toledo wants him to come early or not but it looks like Cincy is out. That may change the baseball situation.

My picks:
Wheelersburg (Team to beat until they are dethroned as champions)
Valley (Very young last year, look for them to be really good this year)
Waverly (Lost a couple of nice players, but they are always solid.)
Northwest (Could be a sleeper)
South Webster (Don't count out the Jeeps, good nucleus returning)
West (Not sure what they have returning)
Minford (Still have the Oesch kid, but still rebuilding)
Oak Hill ( New coach, but not new players. Give them time)
i am glad to hear Jason is going back to coaching...i played under him for his full 4 year stint at south webster and i can tell you first hand that his coaching skill is 2nd to none, one of the best there has ever been in my opinion. best of luck....funny thing is i talked to him last year and asked him when he was gonna get back in the saddle and he said he may be done for good that the daily grind was getting to him in the past, but a baseball guy like him just cant stay away!!!
i played for jason at oak hill but he was an assistant but with him there we won 14 0r 15 games that year and we learned a lot with him there. it willbe interesting with a lot of talentd freshman coming out but this will be a rebuilding year for sure

Wheelersburg returns all but 3 of the everyday starters.
Elliott SS/P, Kemper 2b, Brandon Hall 3b, Leach C, Luster OF/P will be those returning with varsity experience. Others moving into possible starting roles will be O'Leary IF, Parsley OF, Bryce Hall 1b/P, Shears IF. This will be the core of the varsity squad with JV'ers Boyer, Austin Hall and a couple others possibly on varsity roster.

I think Burg will win it. Great all around program and a solid nucleus of returning players (even though they lost some big bats). Elliott is the top pitcher around. I think Valley will finish second. They were pretty decent last year and have most of their lineup coming back.

Re: SOC2 2010 Predictions and thoughts
burg is always good at baseball but i would say oak hill will win more this year then people think! not sayn they are going to be close to burg or anything but they got a really good coach working with them this year and he will put some wins up for them!!
Re: SOC2 2010 Predictions and thoughts
Wheelersburg has a good program. I will say they will continue to lead this conference.
