Valley's passing attack is very overrated. They will be lucky to score on Burg or Minford

I haven't seen Valley play. I'm just going on what I have read. Last week everybody said that was why they would beat the Siders. They said that if Minford could pass on them, then Valley would with ease. Didn't mean anything against West people, I'm just going on what I heard.
Good luck to both teams from a Minford Fan. Please don't let posts from a few represent us as a whole.
This game could be a classic if Valley can take away the edge. Burg must pass a little to win as well IMO.
This will be a close one , and will set up an interesting week 10 for both schools. Should be a well coached game on both sides of the ball and I know both schools play hard.

didn't take that way, just saying that is all Valley people said is how good they throw the ball. Minford throws the ball alot better.
from a west fan I think burg should win easily west ran right at valley and to the same side the whole game. The burgs misdirection and and athletic secondary will give valley fits.also I think burgs d-line will have valleys qb on the run all night.
After reading this thread, I'm still not sure who's matching up this week... And there hasn't been much talk between Valley and Burg posters, or even true comments on the game.
Well here it goes, to prove that a Minford poster can wait one more week to run their mouth about valley. I think this will be a great game. Valley has momentum and seams to be playing some real good football right now. Burg has more talent than they know what to do with (figuratively and literally). I think valley will be able to move the ball on burg through the air, but with crabtree out I wonder about the run game. Burg has the home field advantage and that seemed to mess with valley a few years ago. When valley had their playoff run they went into Ed Miller stadium and didn't know what to do even with the more talented team IMO. This game is make or break for playoffs for both teams. I wouldn't be suprised to see this go either way, but my gut says burg will win. I'll take burg by about 10 points 24-14.

you are right, West o-line isn't there yet. Minford shut down #8, but he had 144 yards against Valley do you call that shutting him down. No disrespect to Valley but Minford and Burg are way better. All I heard all week was about Valley's high powered passing attack. They only had 120 yards passing and 50 was on one play, against a very bad secondary. All the chances they had against West they should have won by 30. Valley is just a decent team like we are.
A couple of questions for you. Didn't Pendleton have 30 carries to get those yards? That's less than 5 yards per carry. So, do you not at least call that slowing him down? Also, where did you see that Valley only had 120 yards passing? I just scrolled back through to find the stats and it has their QB going 14-21 with 161 yards. Maybe I'm too old to know what good football is, but that looks pretty good to me, especially on a night that rained. Also, I thought I read somewhere that Valle had 4 turnovers. It looks like they weren't the only team that had a lot of chances to win by 30.
Not to take anything away from Pendleton, because the kid is a player, but about 40 yards came on one (GREAT!) run in which he broke 3 or 4 tackles in the backfield before getting away. He had a very solid night, and did everything West asked of him... the problem, I would think, is the inability to show a threat outside of the power running game.
They are calling for rain now on Friday. Who does that hurt worse, Valley and their air attack or Burg and there speed? Should be a good matchup.
I do think that Burg will do ok against the pass. When they played Clev. St. Joes, they had one of the better pasing games I'd seen in awhile. They had a very good strong armed QB and they had big, tall receivers. Burg held them to 21 and Burg also picked off a couple of passes that they took to the house, so Valley will have to contend with that. Burg's defensive secondary is very good. They held Roback in check the other night.
Against a passing team Burg always sems to have that bend but don't break attitiude. tema swill move the ball down the field, but when they get in the redzone, Burg buckles down and stops them. As long as Burg don't give up the long pass, I think they will be just fine.
Good luck Pirates and here's to an injury free game for both teams.
Would love to see this game.....but I''ll be way up river @ Marietta rooting on the Trojans......I believe both can win this game......it depends on which team shows up to play....good luck to both and injury free.

I really hope im wrong in the prediction... Valley has worked hard this year... If Valley can play 4 good quarters of football and play like they did against West last week to come back and win... I see Valley pulling off the win.
