Valley 21 - West 17

As much as both teams played VERY sloppy football at times, I really thought there were also some very outstanding individual efforts and some pretty outstanding individual plays on the night. I was very impressed with West's young QB's arm strength. He seems to be a very good athlete and has a strong arm. I think he's going to be a very good QB before his career is done. I also thought Yates from Valley had an outstanding game. The postgame stats credited him with 18 tackles in addition to the TD catch he had along with two fumble recoveries and an interception.

Not sure how accurate they are. Our stat man had problems seeing the West player's numbers all night. They should be pretty close though.

Congrats to Valley on a good comeback. West had the game wrapped up., 2 fumbles and a 15 yard punt on their own 10 was the game. I was dissappointed in the way Valley cheap shotted Pendleton all night. Its like they was trying to get him to retallliate and get tossed. All you Valley people don't need to get on here and act like you dominated the game cause we outplayed you. West give you the game, all the above mentioned and a TD pass that hits our DB in the hands and deflects right to Yates. Offsides on 4th and 5 on the feild goal attempt Which Valley ended up scoring on. Not to take anything away from Valley cause they are good, but you don't have anything for Burg or Minford.

I know West basketball isn't much down here, but after tonights loss we have no chance for the playoffs, but it is time for ROUND BALL SEASON!

Sounds to me like west went back to their old ways this week. I heard after the Minford game that west wasn't any less cheap, just a little more smart about when they did it. It's a shame when teams try to do that at the end of a game when the other team is in Victory formation, you got beat take it like a man and move on.

The better team lost tonight. West made plenty of mistakes as young teams do, but the partiality of the referees was like nothing I have ever seen. Not the Valley kids' fault, they capitalized on the chances the REFS gave them. Valley will never beat Minford, the only chance they have is if the game is at Valley and even then, Minford will beat them. This is the first time in years of football have I seen anything so blatant and unfair. Congratulations to Valley (and the REFS). To the West players great job.

All year we have not showed ourself to much and showed the "True West Sider" in us but did we tonight. Boys in life you get defeated, learn to take in like men. You don't have to stoop down and show yourselves. You had this game, Valley scrapped back and won it.

I hope you aren't talking about the fumble calls.. They were called right.. West did play well and Valley didn't do alot of things right. But to call it "Blatant and unfair"?? Wow!!!

I agree West should have won this game, but I am dissapointed in both coaching staffs, as they reared their ugly heads at the end of the game, and didnt set good examples for our young men. I expect more from Coach Triplett and his staff....but for Valley this didnt suprise me...remember the Minford Valley game last year

What did you see Valley's coaching staff do?? I saw both teams at the end of the game go and shake hands on the VSN telecast. I may have missed stuff, just wondering.. There was a pause with someone from West staff and Crabtree but it didn't look like anything more than a handshake and moving on.. Again I might have missed it.
