Good post Bleeding Red and Grove4Life
Some teenagers get the attitude they can do or say anything no matter if the parents did everything they could. By players acting this way no matter if it is the coaches fault or not should be dealt with by the school administration because they are students at a school function. Then is it school administration protecting certain players for whatever reason. Sports should be fun but it is also something that should be earned to have the rights to wear the uniform. If they can not respect the game or others they should not be allowed to wear a uniform. Just like there is a football team each person involved in the school has a part to play so the school can operate smoothly with respect to everyone who earns it. Parents and students have their part that should be a requirement before they can play.

iT Seems like everytime i get on here, there's always a bunch of drama going down with the Grove. As a neutral observer who attended games at Coal Grove for roughly 3 years, i've found myself litrally laughing out loud at a lot of the crap i've seen take place on those sidelines and in the bleachers. From what I've heard from former players, an incident like the one which supposedly took place friday night is nothing out of the ordinary for this bunch. The thing that makes this one differnt is the fact that even the fans gotto see it.
The good people of the grove have a bad little habit of letting things slide in one ear and out the other in the name of small-town politics and keeping the peace. that's why you grovers have drug dealers living around your house and that's why you have a lame duck board voting in a superintendent for three more years. it's also why the coaching staff doesnt disipline players for their actions. it's that spineless mindset that runs rampant over there in the village. the coaching staff won't give any explanation, nor will anyone in power in the school. from what i'm told, probably 90% of the people who work for the dawson-bryant school system have the good ol' boys to thank for it. no one from there is going to take a stand for what's right. never have, don't look like they ever will. it's all about what politically convenient.
WAY TO GO COAL GROVE! YOU DROPPED THE BALL AGAIN!
The whole school system is a sad joke.
GO TOMCATS! 8-1 BABY!!!!

Let it Be, I have lived in Coal Grove my entire life, and I have been fighting that same system my entire life, what happened friday night happened due to bad coaching and bad parenting, the coaching part is sad because I played ball in Coal Grove and I will admit we were cocky but what team isn't, but we never acted like that to any band memebers or faculty. The fact is until someone comes in and stands up to these BOYS, and thats what they are boys then this is going to continue, what we need are coaches who want respect not coaches who want to be liked, we get that type of coach and we will have some special teams again.

You are right blu and gray .it does start at home But the coaches can jerk the kids out of the game. My kid plays for coach Eddy and i can tell you that would not happen with his team, and if my kid acted like that I would stop it real quick.
