This will be a shootout, I hope wellston's defense steps up and plays like it did earlier this year . If the Rockets play defense they will win this game.

this is a dangerous game for both teams. wellston has played some real tough teams and as far as i can tell has no quit in them. meigs better take these guys serious because just like us, they are better than their record. this may be meigs' hardest game because wellston has nothing to lose and respect to win. i think they will be fired up.

Thank you NY Bucks , I was just responding to your buddy NYBUX.
Besides what is it to you what teams I like or dont like. I have made it clear on here on many occasions that other than my Rockets I root for the Tigers Of Ironton and have for years.
It goes way back to when we played them in the old SEOAL days . The Tigers was and still are what programs should be like . When they win they dont gloat they act like they have been there ,which they have.

I'm with you Boilermaker, I've always rooted for the Tigers also for the reasons you stated: From the old SEOAL days (Meigs for me) and yes, they were and still are what programs should be like. No one else in southeastern ohio in football has represented like Ironton over the years, period.

Agreed. And unless my beloved Hornets make an unexpectedly deep run through the playoffs this year, I'll be right there rooting the Tigers on as they press toward State.

As for this game, I'll take Meigs although I think the score will look like it came from a basketball game. :122249

If Meigs' offense shows up and they play better defense they should have no problem.

That's why I chose Meigs THEY are a class act & I have the upmost respect for their Program and Coach...

As a side note to all meigs players watch those utility poles that are less than 5 yards from the field as they have been known to make late hits and try to drive you into those poles. A quality program would have removed them years ago.

NYBUX....As usual, you are a mountain of misinformation.

The utility poles at Wellston's C.H. Jones Field are in fact more than five yards from the sidelines.

Seems to me you are on this thread — and many others — for no more than causing trouble.

Boilermaker...I heard Wellston may be getting a new football field...just wondering if thats true or not? ...Also..about the old field...I think a field without a track around it is the way they should all be.. You may have a ton of room on the sidelines with a track...but the stands are so far away from the field. Theres just a better atmosphere at fields such as Wellston, Jackson and the old VCHS field.

Those poles are too close to the field and need to be taken out....

I didn't intend to hurt your feelings I just think that they could be replaced with somthing before someone is seriously injured no matter what team they play for.
