Adrian Peterson
I don't think he is the best in the league look a Cincinatti's Benson or Jet's Jones or Baltimore's Rice or Mcgahee i think any of those backs are as good or better then Peterson...what are your thoughts?

Re: Adrian Peterson
So instead of just saying you disagree with me you had to call my post dumb and say I should never post in this thread again? I forgot people were not entitled to there opinion i'll just wait until many of you post and just say yep because you people are never wrong and your opinion is the only one that matters. I better let everyone else know not to say what they think. I HONESTLY am sorry...not.
Re: Adrian Peterson
I think Peterson is a great back when healthy but he has missed games every year. He has great skills even though his shoe collection is over $200,000. There is no other back that can do what Peterson can do on the field. Peterson benefits from playing behind a great offenive line also. He also has Chester Taylor to come in at rb.
I am not sold on Peterson being able to take the abuse of the amount of times he touches the ball over his career though. The other backs mentioned are doing a good job but are behind on the anytime I touch the ball I can score factor as Peterson.
The question cool cucumber had asked has been discussed on tv and there is just a gap between him and others right now.

I meant you are not the only person who has asked that question as others have discussed it on tv. I do not see it as a dumb question.

All those other Backs you talked about are good but Peterson is just on a completely differnent level just look at what he did against the Browns and what he is going to do against the steelers sunday.

If you are going to say Peterson isnt the best, please dont use a guy like Benson, Jones, Rice, or McGahee...Use a guy like Maurice Jones-Drew or Chris Johnson.

Re: Adrian Peterson
Out of the list he gave Ray Rice may have the most upside to improve. Drew and Johnson are not getting it done this year but their teams are having some troubles also.
The NFL now needs at least 2 good backs on the team to complete one another to lessen the effects of abuse of being hit all the time. That is where Peterson has Taylor to help. Peterson seems to be holding on to the ball better this year as compared to the first two which makes him even more effective with a QB that can throw the ball.

So if I told you that you can have ANY running back in the NFL not named Adrian Peterson and you can have them for the next five years...then you are taking Ray Rice??
Im sorry...but, give me Mojo Drew, Chris Johnson, Michael Turner, Frank Gore, Steven Jackson, Ronnie Brown, DeAngelo Williams, Marion Barber, Brandon Jacobs, Steve Slaton, and there are plenty of others I could name.

Well I said Rice MAY HAVE THE MOST UPSIDE TO IMPROVE. Then you want to change the question. Well Rice is having a very good year after being hurt last year. He is playing behind a young but very good offensive line that may stay together for years to come. Most running backs lately have a big drop off in production after their 7th year and many on your list have 5 years or more already. With Brandon Jacobs already having people talking about his poor production. Here are the true stats this year to go against your list. Seems like Rice is doing well compared to others this year on your list as a receiver as well as a runner.
Ray Rice 2nd year
Att 73 Yds 441 Avg 6.0 TD 3 Rec 33 Yds 325 TD1
Brandon Jacobs 5th year
Att 107 Yds 388 Avg3.6 1 td Rec 5 YDS 23 TD 0
Steven Jackson 6th year
Att 120 Yds 501 Avg 4.2 TD 0 Rec 20 Yds 170 TD 0
Ronnie Brown 5th year
Att 93 Yds 443 Avg 4.8 TD 6 Rec 9 Yds 64 TD 0
Frank Gore 5th year
Att 39 Yds 241 Avg 6.2 TD 3 Rec 8 YDS 57 TD 1
Michael Turner 6th year
Att 100 Yds 353 Avg 3.5 TD 6 Rec 3 YDS 21 TD 0
Marion Barber 5th year
Att 58 Yds 297 Avg 5.1 TD 3 Rec 4 Yds 58 TD 0
DeAngelo Williams 4th year
Att 89 Yds 372 Avg 4.2 TD4 Rec 13 YDS 123 TD 0
Maurice Jones Drew 4th year
Att 108 Yds 463 Avg 4.3 TD 8 Rec 26 Yds 165 TD 0
Steve Slaton 2nd year
Att 91 Yds 274 Avg 3.0 TD 1 Rec 23 Yds 282 TD 0
Chris Johnson 2nd year
Att 95 Yds 596 Avg 6.3 TD 2 Rec 16 Yds 126 TD 1

If I couldn't take Peterson, I would definitely take Jackson. He isn't as good as runner as Peterson but is a better receiver. I would LOVE to see what he could do with a good team, hell, a decent team.

Re: Adrian Peterson
AP is the best runningback hands down, my favorite runningback on my fav. team Jacksonville Jaguars is a beast also, he's a complete back can run good an also catch very well. I'd easily rank jones drew above thomas jones ,mcgahee an I say right now Ray Rice would be the 2nd best Benson is 3rd an 4th Steven Jackson.
