Minford had 2 offensive series that resulted in points and 1 was due to a great play by a Minford WR taking the ball away from Bukie... They had a great dive late to make in 28-14, but Minford was able to turn Valley miscues into points.

And after looking at your post for a 2nd time, I can see that you're joking or maybe totally lost in space. I'm not saying Minford didn't deserve to win, but the Indians spotted them a great 1st half lead... And is Tressel ball throwing deep in a 7 point game on 2nd down? Minford was on the ropes, but they responded when they had to. But Valley showed the fight I expect from a Coach Crabtree team! Minford was totally out coached and I would have love to see Valley score and go for 2 and make Minford make a stop. The Indians didn't always execute (very young), but the staff knew the Falcons weakness.

You may think valley gave minford a nice 1st half lead but minford laid flat second half allowing for a nice little comeback. So really it's as broad as it is long. IMO it turned out to be a classic MINFORD/VALLEY Rivalry game. When one lays down the other responds.

Congrats to my falcons winning the soc. Wish i could've been a part of it and shared this moment with you players. I'm proud of you and what you've accomplished. I like it, I love it, Lets get some more of it................IN THE PLAYOFFS.

Great first half by the Falcons, seemed like they became comfortable at the half and Valley picked up the intensity...sure made me nervous I was running out of fingernails lol lol. Hats off to the Indians they played a really solid second half and IMO outplayed my Falcons in the 3rd quarter, but almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades and my Falcons are the outright SOC champs....yeah baby!!!!!!

I can see how people can be biased for their team but from the outside looking in it appeared that Minford was content being in the lead and got too consevartive coming out the second half. They had a lot of success on the outside but insisted on trying to run it up the middle the second half which is something that no team was successful at against Valley. When a very good Valley team got too close then Minford took the ball down the field and scored. As far as the onside kick the Bryan kid from Minford came up with it and gave it the official. My cousin from Minford said the ref said he signaled the wrong way when he came out of the pile. It wasn't a "bad" call as far as the right team it was only "bad" that he signaled the wrong way. Congrats to the Falcons and good luck in the playoffs. The Indians never quit fighting for the win. Two good teams...glad I got to see it.

Congratulations to Minford on the win. I knew 21 points wasn't enough going into half-time and I fully expected Valley to come out ready to play in the 2nd half. When Minford held on the first series of the 2nd half, I really thought they may tack on some points and put it away, but then Valley scored and you could feel the momentum shift a little. A turnover by Minford and another Valley TD then got Minford back to doing the things they do well and they drove 89 yards for another TD to go back up by 14. Valley certainly made it interesting at the end by scoring and then going for the onside kick. The right call was then made and a couple of runs later it was time to celebrate in Minford.

Hats off to Valley as they were as good as I expected them to be. They had a lot on the line and were definitely going for it. The Yates kid is one heck of a player and is a threat regardless of where he is on the field. It's hard to believe he is only a sophomore.

Minford knew what they had on the line and showed the heart, grit, and determination that I knew they would. This game reminded me a lot of the Wellston game as on the drive for the last TD they were not going to be denied. The entire Minford team played well. Special teams was obviously huge, the defense had some incredible 4th down stops (I swear I thought Butcher was 12 feet in the air on the one pass he knocked down), and the offense played well with Bryan playing what may be the best game I have ever seen him play, not to mention an amazing reception by Butcher early in the game. Great job by the entire team...players and coaches.

Way to go Minford....everyone is proud of you guys. There is nothing wrong with celebrating. Be proud and enjoy this!! Time to get ready for the playoffs beginning Monday though and what matters now is this week's game.

Stupid comment, Minford made it to the state semi-finals in 85, 2nd round in 2000.I would like to see the 2003 valley team beat shenandoah that year. Or how about the 2007 valley team beat johnstown-monroe (oh wait you lost to minford that year 41-0). Maybe you could have beat burg last season in the playoffs(well nevermind you already lost to them 34-3 and lost to minford as well.) So have fun watching valley open gym.

One more thing last time you guys beat minford was about 5 years ago. :-D

Who cares about the past isn't that what all the Minford fans say when this series is talked about. The fact rermains Valley has beaten Minford 13 or 14 times over last 20 years and the 2003 Indians beat your playoff bound falcons pretty easily that year. But enough talk about the past yes you have beat Valley the last 4 years all but one game was a touchdown or less. This is and will continue to be a great series and from this Valley fan Good Luck in Playoffs.

Not when it's recent history is what we have said. You guys bring up the 90s when noone really cares anymore what happen then. You are right though this will be a great series for awhile never denied that. But we still have 4 straight :-D

I would like to see the 2003 valley team beat shenandoah that year

Well Valley did beat Minford by 21 points that year, so I'd say they woulda had a chance.

I know, right?! I mean Minford wouldn't have had a chance with Crabtree in the middle.

I don't think you understood what he said. Also I still would have took the falcons even with crabtree in there but I guess we will never know.

Valley had their offense on the field and was getting ready to play ball when the call was changed. I was about 6 feet away and the John Webb had the ball and IMO had possession. It was a great game, and Minford is good team. I can't believe they beat Burg, but by God they did and now they have the gold ball. Valley was an equal on the field tonight that would win 5 out of 10 games against that Minford team. Great game to watch, but the end of the game was handled worse than any crew could think about. And BTW, there wasn't much PAIN tonight as a very young Valley team showed that they were as good as the best the SOC II had to offer.

Minford would win 9 out of ten. Because they are faster and quicker. They went flat after yawning their way to a 21 point lead, it could have been worse. They beat the burg because of the same reason. Valley couldn't beat the burg if they played them 100 xs. I don't see Valley beating Minford again for the next 10 years.

Valley is definitely getting better. They finished much better in the SOC II than most expected, so it was a good year for them. I think they will have a nice team next year too. They may even stop the run Minford is on in this backyard brawl.

Oh well. It turned out to be a good game. Minford blew them out the first half, came out way too conservative and dropped a pass that would have been a walk in TD after the half to really drive the last nail in the coffin and fell asleep. Went back to the wing T and outside buck sweeps and Valley had no answer like they didnt the entire first half.

Lesson learned.

Now on to week 11, which is all that matters!

Wow! Yawing huh? A kickoff return, a 10 yard drive, and 1 good scoring drive is yawning? It coulda been worse? Valley beat themselves with turnovers and poor special teams play. The Indians were able to move the ball on the Falcons. I do give Minford all the credit in the world for going 89 yards after they held the Indians after the INT. To act like it could have been worse and forget the fact that Valley had Minford on their heels, is quite honestly mind blowing.

And Valley is getting better? Getting better than what?

Minford has had a nice run and I'll give them probs for that, but outside of the previous 3 seasons Valley has been much more successful than the Falcons. I think you meant the Falcons are getting better.
