One of the original coaches still with him is Paul Fugitt. Another reason for his long term success. Thanks to Boomer and Paul for hanging in there as long as you have!

IronTigerMum:
I believe Paul Fugitt joined the IHS staff a season or two after Bob Lutz took over at IHS. Mr. Fugitt was not even a full-time teacher until the 1976 - 1977 school year. Mr. Fugitt took over the teaching duties of a sick teacher sometime during the 1975 - 1976 school year and got the job full-time when the teacher passed away.
Coach Lutz has seen some great men helping him over the years. Lynn Schrickle was one of my all-time favorites. Jeff Handley, Tom Ben, Mark Lewis, Jimmy Payne, Gene Jones and Pat Sheridan are some other names from Lutz's early years at IHS.

henry: Thanks for clarifying. I knew he was a teacher when we were there. I graduated in 77. Coach Lutz came when we were freshman. It's an awful long time to be someone's sidekick! When I read back over some of these names, it's no wonder the Tigers had so much success through the years between Coach Lutz and his assistants.

I've watched the video of the celebration after the game. Alot of kind words were passed on, and alot of comendations were given to Coach Lutz. Coach Lutz made sure that his right hand man of more than 35 years, Coach Burcham, was right by his side. Words cannot say what these two men have done for your school and your community. Congradulations Coach Lutz on an outstnding achievment. In the video I did not see anyone from your athletic boosters club. What did they do for Coach Lutz. I may be way off base but was just curious..

Or, you could have just pointed out that I was more than a few years older than you?!
