Let's see, I've seen Lang do it, Shankweiler do it, as well as some of the Burgs better players over the years and players from other teams that were also some of the best players on the team. I've also seen some of the better college and pro players players do it so your statement doesn't hold water because GOOD football players do it.
But I guess none of these hear the crowd or feed off the cheers either, right.

OK, so does that make them exempt from cheering or standing and supporting the team? They do absolutely nothing at all. The only time they stand is during the National Anthem. Saw a few of them cringe and just shake their heads when they played the song during kickoffs. I myself like it. It gets the crowd pumped up. It gets the players pumped up. I know it will never change because money talks and there are people in administration that don't want to step on any toes.[/quote]
I understand why they cringed that song was horrible.

Big Orange One- Coach Miller did not have to sell any hype to the fans. The fans were hyped enuff by the team. Last night on the radio one of the Burg's players remarked how great it was when they came out of the locker room and heard the fans so fired up. And he is a Good Football player. I read the other day that a college coach was concerned with his team going to another teams stadium due to the fans being SO LOUD. Maybe he was just trying to sell some hype. I think it lifts the boys when they hear their fans cheering for them.

I can only speak for myself but the only time I noticed the crowd was running out of the tunnel, walking in at the half and after the game. I have never noticed the burg players waiving their hands but when I have seen other teams players do it I have always thought it was a "look at me" type thing, nothing else. I think crowds and noise in basketball have much more of an influence than in football at the highschool level.
