In my opinion, Coal Grove will score enough points to win the game. What they need to actually do to win the game is play solid D. They have given up more than 21 points 4 different times this year and still won. No doubt they can score points, but it will be interesting to see how well they will defend Fairland who likes to throw the ball and can put up both yards and points in a hurry.

The offenses will show up, the defense that shows up will win the game.

GO HORNETS!

Just an interesting fact on this matchup-

Fairland has scored 256 points in 9 games this year, averaging 28.44 pts per game.
Fairland has given up 166 pts, averaging 18 pts a game.

Coal Grove has scored 363 points and is averaging 40.33 a game.
Coal Grove has given up 187, averaging 21 a agame.

Both teams will score points!

Sounds like it should be a high scoring game. Both teams O-fense can score, and score quick. One thing to watch out for is the special teams. That might make the difference. I know CG's special teams looked good against my Falcons.

Good Luck to both teams, but, I am pulling for Coal Grove.

I believe CG will be victorious if the defense settles down and plays like they are capable and the coaches keep the right players where they belong. Fairland will be
out to redeem themselves after that loss to chesapeake. (who would have guess that) So I hope the grove can dedicate themselves for this game and treat it as if it was there last, because if they lose it will be their last. A victory should put them in playoffs..Lets go Grove

Great Game!
Came down to Lucas going for 2 to win instead of kicking the extra point to tie..

That's why he's in the HOF. Pure grit when the game's on the line! :122249

Fuzz how can you brag he is a HOF coach after you agreed with Grove4life about some actions of Coal Grove players and inactions of coaches mentioned on the RV vs Coal Grove game? Lucas maybe in the HOF but if all that was true he lets some players get away with to much. Not what a coach let alone a HOF coach would allow on his team.

by all means please make the grove use their outside game...
srry but in my opinion i dnt see fairland stopping their inside game..and it really wouldnt be wise to keep them outside considering woods and haynes are ur tailbacks..i hope ur not the coach lol...honestly i dnt see this game bn close at all and not just bc i am a coal grove fan but simply bc i think they are a way better team..and i am not saying fairland is a bad football team at all..

Groveyard, to play devils advocate here, did anyone see us going up there last year and getting blasted like that, no. Our boys have to come out and play hard this whole game, not go half speed the way they have the last few weeks. If they come out early and show they own this game, then there will be no problems, if they come out slow and letting the penalty bug(in other words, play smart) get them again, then it's another year of a shared OVC title.

You all were the way better team last year, and u seen how that turned out...
Not saying this one will be anything like that but being the better team doesn't always give u the W.

And coal grove won't have a fast exit from the playoffs?

Just as you were pretty sure "Bloomfield, Duty, and Fisher will run all over the peake.
To much speed." ?

We see how accurate that prediction was.

The only way the Grove loses(and this is not a knock on Fairland, just the opinion that has watched the Grove play everygame this year) is by their own stupidity, personal fouls and costly mistakes have been a major problem this year, they need to come into this game and play with their smarts and not their heart(so to speak), this Grove team has a lot to lose in this one, don't beat yourselves, make Fairland beat you.

The coaches only gave Bloomfield the ball like 10 times all game n they never kicked to him, no one ever kicks to him bc there scared..
And cg won't kick to him either.

Umm actually South Point did kick it to him a couple of times and he burnt them once with a long kickoff return! They rethought their strategy after that one though! ;-)

Coach Lucas is not the same coach as he was in the 80's. He doesn't even have live hitting in practice, nor does he allow the players to challenge for a position and I think everyone knows that J. Lucas has his picks and allows those picks to do as they please. I would love to see the big guy get back to his tough coaching that put him in the HOF. The players would be a better unit and keeping the starters on their toes to keep their positions because everyday they had to work for it.

That response on how things are done at Coal Grove shows that this team does not deserve to make the playoffs. Lucas was a HOF coach before on the field and now he is just a HOF coach for his past. Coal Grove has athletes to compete now if their respect and team work come together they might have a special team. Quality coaches and quality players on and off the field make GREAT TEAMS.
Good luck Fairland get the ball to Boomer early and often. You can even start giving him the ball today.
