That second half was the most disciplined I have seen the Grove play all year, if we play like that next week, we just may stick around in the playoffs for awhile

We'll have to wait and see who we play, but we are in now. NY can't get enough points to pass anyone but the burg, and that's not likely to happen. Liberty Union lost, cementing a playoff birth for the OVC Champion Hornets.

To bad we didn't have enough to start a reading circle or something, if we count our shadows we didn't have enough to play full court b-ball.

Congrats to the Hornets on a big win and playoff birth. Hopefully we can see a rematch with Minford later in the playoffs!

Congrats to Coal Grove and good luck. Loved seeing the boys play with heart and giving all they could. Glad to see Duty back in there for his last game. I've enjoyed watching this group and will miss it! Thanks to all the fans that showed up to support, 0-0 at the half who would have thought??? Glad to see good sportsmanship from everyone. Again good luck to ALL the seniors it's been fun!

Very good story, everyone from the coaching staff to the players sound very upbeat in the story and sound ready to win a playoff game, not just play in a playoff game.

I think you guys will get Minford this time around. It's awfully hard to beat the same team twice in the same year.

This was the biggest win for the Coal Grove Football Program in a long, long time and it was treated as such by the community. Great community support by the Coal Grove faithful from the get-go. I'm thankful I could be part of it all.
As for the game, Coal Grove shot themselves in the foot several times with all the fumbles, but they played solid defense (best defense they've played against Fairland in a LONG, LONG time) and managed to get into halftime all tied up. The 2nd half, Coal Grove just physically man-handled the Dragons on both sides of the ball. Pads were popping and holes the size of mack-trucks began to open wider and wider as the night went on. The Dragon defense began to look like they were playing on roller skates.

fisher and boomer have more speed than both running backs and hell haynes couldnt even catch me last year and im a fullback and u lay a few good licks on woods and he will lay down like he did last year, a quote from purplecrusader41.
well purplecrusader41 u were definitely wrong on this point. haynes smokes bloomfield on one of his long td runs. bloomfield had the angle on him and still didn't catch him. as far as laying down after a few good licks, alot of the dragon boys didn't want no more in the 4th quarter. fisher ended up on the sidelines and boomer qb'ed but didn't run it no more.
