I think Westfall had a late hit out of bounds on the Piketon sidelines...tempers flared...

Keller apologized to Piketon coaches/players/fans on WKKJ.

Normal things that happen during a game. Keller and staff did the right thing immediateyl arrived and separated the kids. Could have been much uglier than it was. Just adds to the rivalry.

^^^If by the right thing you mean send in all of his seniors, dressed and in street clothes to stand on the middle of the field jumping around and chest bumping and high fiving after the altercation was broken up and then taking a penalty for these actions then yes I guess that would be the right thing. I however find it classless and tasteless. I am all about confidence, but this was no different than taunting on his part. I have never met a coach that whines to the officials more than I have Keller.

Other than that, Williamson is a load and a good football player. Piketon couldnt get the defense off the field without giving up points and Westfall could a few more times. Congrats to the players of Westfall.

The intent was to let all the seniors go on the field together take the 5 yrds and then take them all out together. It has been done for years at Westfall. I do disagree with the Westfall fans cheering the kids after the altercation. jmho

Why right after the altercation? Timing was poor if this is the case, and IMO this is not a good tradition to take. A program like Westfall doesnt need to rub it in peoples faces, their play does that.

I agree timing was terrible.lol Bart did it all the years he was there last game on the home field. I want to know how no one was tossed from Westfall when the entire team rushed to the Piketon side. If you leave the sideline you are gone. The Officials should have called the game at that point. You are correct Williamson best football player I say this year. Was real impressed with the Younger Willamson kid. Was not impressed with Southworth at TB. Think Jamie did a great job at QB hope he plays next year. THe AD needs to recuit back some of those basketball players to football.

I didnt feel that the refs were biased, just didnt do the things necessary to control the game. At the beginning of the game, Piketon gathered at mid field and Westfall took offense and both teams confronted each other. 1 ref was right beside them and did nothing, finally the head ref came up and started to break it up. The game management of the officials were horrible. Both teams were instigating incidents and the officials did nothing to curb these actions. They were to blame on that final incident.

Timing was bad on his part, and IMO was done to get the crowd riled up as well. Like I said, he knew what he was doing, and he done it to stir the pot!

I will talk to the AD and see what he can do!

Yeah, usually when they do that, it doesn't seem like a big deal but the altercation just made it look real bad. I don't understand why our fans were cheering either. I will tell you that Keller gave our crowd a nasty look when he got back to the sideline and he was shaking his head. To me, it was obvious he was not happy about them cheering either.

Agree, the game should have been called but I guess at that point Piketon could have scored and got the onside kick...so I'm sure that played into the decision. Southworth showed his class as usual. Was not involved with the altercation and was the first one to shake hands and hug other WF seniors. Classy kid.

Sounds to me that some of the blame should be placed on the coaches!!!!!!! Who lets their players act like this. I guess TV is bad for the players they see this junk all the time on college football games.

Streaks have to be pretty disappointed in a 5-5 finish with this group. Best of luck to the seniors.

From whhat I was told by a player was that when our guy tackeled the piketon player it caused him to drop the ball it was out of bounds but they were treating it like a fumble I guess and our guy punched the piketon player to get the ball. other piketon players went to defending their player and naturally Westfall players ran across to defend their players. I don't condone what either side did in this situation. Players or fans. a lot has been said about the westfall fans cheering and such. I was not in the stands at this point I was more toward the consession area along the fence. and no one on here has said a thing about the parents that were going through the gate on the piketon side toward the team or even the guy who even after the "fight" was over that stayed by the gate on the visitors side yelling obsenities toward the WF boys on the field.

As I said BOTH sides were wrong in their actions on this.

As for all the seniors on the feild at one time it has been done for many many years at WF it is just more noticable anymore with the number of seniors there is. Could it have waited until the next play instead of then yes maybe it could have. However, with all that went on what many may NOT have seen was before the fight ever started all the seniors were lined up to go out and be on the next play and take the penalty.
Now many of you on here have been coaches and/or were on the sidelines at one point or another. with all the comotion that was going on at that time would you have taken the time to call a time out and tell the seniors to wait another play to go out there, because a time out is what would have needed to be called to get 26 boys off the feild.

Was not aware of the Piketon fans behavior I was in the press box. I was told about some of the behavior toward our own coaching staff at the end of the game. It is a shame some people act in such a manner in front of women and Children. It actually sickens me. Show class in all things. You are setting an example for the kids.

Yes I have coached and played as has Eagle 73.

I don't have a problem with putting the kids on the field.

Well fire the so called coaches and hire someone that will bring some pride back to Piketon football and I would say the fans will be much less colorful with the language towards the coaches. Scott Keller that mans a ball coach take a lesson from Westfall they know how to hire coaches.
