I sent this to everyone in my address book b/c I had to share! A few weeks ago I was working at a health fair for the hospital. At the table next to mine there was a couple promoting what they had just had passed in the state of Ohio. Long story short, two years ago their son died in a car accident at the age of 33. It took the police 8 hours to track down his parents. By the time their parents were notified, it was too late. This amazing couple spent their entire life savings and the next year at the steps of our state house. After a year of effort, the following issue was passed: For Ohio residents only: you may go to the attached web-site and enter two people in your emergency contact list. This is directly tied to your driver's license/vehicle information. So, if you are in an accident when they pull up your information they will see your 2 emergency contacts. I did not know this, but it takes on average approxiamately 6 hours to find a family member to notify them of a loved one's accident! It is also against the law to look in someone's purse for their cell phone, you have to have a search warrent! This is especially great for those of us who travel a lot with small children, they'd be able to notify your spouse immediately!
The mom made me promise to pass this on. I was so impressed with this couple!
