I don't know which region is strongest, but I do know that if NY was in D 4, R 15, the Buckeyes would have been in the playoffs as the sixth seed, but finished in ninth place in D 5, R 19.

Zane Trace, the sixth seed in R 15, finished with 16.000 points. NY, the ninth place team in R 19, finished with 16.750 points.

So my assumption is that either R 15 is down this year, or R 19 just had a really outstanding year.

Habin point system isn't a good way of ranking how good a team is but IMO it's the only way to select teams for a playoff that doesn't include every team.

Went to the Woodridge vs Martins Ferry Sat. It was a fantastic football game.
Woodridge turned the ball over their first two possesions and MF scored two touchdowns to go up 14-0.
With this being Woodridge's first ever playoff appearance I thought this game was over and would be a blowout win for MF.
It was 21-21 at the half and Woodridge won 49-28.
Spread offense was the norm for both teams. They both had some very good offensive players.
The QB for Woodridge was awesome. Although not near as gifted running the ball was at least as talented as Angle throwing the ball.
Neither team was very big, but both were very atheletic.
It would be difficult to shut Woodridge's offense down. I think they would have a hard time stopping a good power running team. Wouldn't look for a low scoring game involving them.
They are playing undefeated Girard next week.

Alter had 4:5 odds to win State this past week according to Pastuer. . . he's a smarter guy than me so I'll take his word for it, no matter how much Alter lost of their team from last year.

I dunno. . . it just seems like a BIG DIFFERENCE to me.

Don't get me wrong, I'm pulling for I-town the rest of the way. However, if someone put a gun to my head and told me that if I didn't pick the team that won state I'd get my brains blown out, I'd put my life on Alter in that situation.

From what I am hearing...and the information seems to keep getting clearer by the week...Alter isn't what they were last year...and there really isn't a power in the state this years...Div 4 is the weakest I have seen it for many year...with Mooney and Stubenville out...Ironton is bound to be a front runner...along with Alter and Genoa Area

Have a cousin playing for Woodridge. With the good weather headed that way Sat.
Woodridge against undefeated Girard.

Warning.....Telling what the point spread of the winner of that game against the other teams left in DIV is above my pay grade.
With the exception of Woodridge vs Chagrin Falls, I would give CF a six point spot over Woodridge if both teams win this week.
(Chagrin Falls beat Woodridge earlier in the year 32-26)

R16 is pretty tough with Alter and Kenton. Alter did lose some very good players from last season, but filled in with seniors who were ready to play this year. Alter's defense is very good, and with the exception of 2 games the offense only stopped itself with penalties, fumbles, turnovers, etc. (and they had very few of those). Alter can be beat, but a team has to believe they can go all the way to be able to compete with the Knights.

I believe our region and the Cinci region..#16 are the toughest this year...I think it will be a battle between the winner of our region and whoever wins in region 16...and that will be who wins the state...
