Say what you want, the playoffs show how tuff you have played this year and if your schedule has you ready for the stress of the playoffs.
Let's not get too carried away with this strength of schedule thing. No one will argue that Oak Hill's league was very good, but it is not like the OVC was very good either. It was probably as bad as it has been in a very long time. I saw three of your OVC teams against the Oaks and none of them were very impressive. I don't think the schedule will have anything to do with this game. I believe Coal Grove would have won the SOC I easily, just like Oak Hill would have won the OVC this year.

Not sure about their punishment yet, but a few Coal Grove players were involved in a wreck while under the influence of alcohol. I wonder how this will effect the game Friday..

I think this will be the Oaks first test since the Minford game. The Grove will knock your socks off and the Oaks have the 1-2 punch in Sloan and Hale.Should be one of ,if not ,best 1st round game in R-19. Good luck to both teams oh an injury free game. And just remember, it's just A game between young men doing their best.
Re: D5 - Region 19: (#7) Coal Grove at (#2) Oak Hill
Don't underrate Weston Hale, the kid can run...I saw him and that O-line dominate Minford...hes got very good vision and explodes through the second level...the Oaks didn't win their biggest game of the year (Minford) by the pass, but with the run...I understand Coal Grove is Coal Grove, they are solid, and good line and good backs (and team speed from what I hear)...but, the Oaks are more than just an Soc 1 team...they are the real deal...but I could be wrong, they have had one close game this year, and they certainly won't blow out Coal Grove that could come back to bite them

I know Oak Hill is 10-0, but I think experience will be a key in this game and that edge has to go to Coal Grove. Coach Lucas has experience in big games like this and this Hornets senior class has been tested in big games in the past couple years. Really Oak Hill doesnt have this experience to fall back on. Basically this is a shocker of a team that went 10-0. They have been building to this year for a couple years now. They have all the pressure in the world on them this team is the team for Oak Hill. Where as the Hornets have no pressure what so ever on them. I think these two factors will be keys in this game.

no pressure for the oaks they are supposed to lose because of the annual excuse "they never been there before". They will play hare and being at home I think they win 27-14, Hale rushes for around 120 and 2 td's.

I also think that the Oaks will pull this one off. But, that's only if they don't let CG get loose on some big plays. CG has alot of speed that could break one on any play. They have two back, and I can't think of their numbers, that are as fast as anybody we played this year. One of them run the opening kick-off back on us. If they get loose, I don't think the Oak's have anybody that can catch them.
But I like the way the Oak's coach called his game against my Falcons. He took what we gave him, and made it work. The Oak's line played very hard and done what they had to, to win.
This will be a great game, Good Luck to both teams!!!! I think it is just Great, that there is so many teams from our area in the playoffs!!!!
Proud to be a Falcon!!! The SOC II Champs!!!

I dont know how you say that Coal Grove has no pressure on them. They missed the playoffs the past 2 years with this senior class and finally made it. I would say that ALL of the pressure is on Coal Grove to get this monkey off their back. This senior class is their most talented they have had in the past 10-15 years and probably will have for at least another 4 years.
Most of these same kids just won a State Championship in basketball last year at Oak Hill. They have proved alot going 10-0 with big win over my Falcons that the deserved.
I would say all the pressure is on Coal Grove to win this game.

Coal Grove...they have played against good quality teams this year...and have learned a lot from it...that experience almost always proves to be the difference in a closely matched game...this one is no different....Coal Grove...42-21

21 points? LMAO!
Listen Tigers90, I watched Minford play both this year. Against the Grove they came out flat, CG returned the kick for a TD and the last 4 minutes of the second quarter till the end of the game they dominated CG's running attack and ran and threw the ball all over them.
Against OH Minford played a very sloppy game. Slone had over 100 yds rushing for Minford the first half then didnt see very many carries the second half. Too conservative the second half and they got beat. Oak Hill runs the counter and trap as good as Burg or Minford. They throw the ball very well.
One thing is certain, this is not a 21 point win by either team!

You never know it could be. Coal Grove isnt Green, East, or Notre Dame. Its one thing to beat up on those teams or River Valley its another to play a team like Coal Grove. Take out Minford from both teams schedule and Oak hill only really has one good team they played and thats Symmes Valley while the Hornets have played and beat some pretty tough physical teams. Ive seen a lot of the teams on both OH and CG schedule play this year.

If you are giving Oak Hill 21 points you just tell me where to bring the deed to.....cause it just so happens I am in Ironton and will bet the farm on it.
