i am glad you both are just fans because i would not want either of you to be my coach and make play calls for our team. but what you all are really good at is ---after the game coaching. this is were u guys really shine. this is the easy to do that is why u are good at it. i thought coach woody and staff called a great game both o and d with the cards that were dealt to them throughout the week and after the first touchdown. the players played a great game. i thought we looked better tackling. i would have called the same play on the goal line. the freddies had 4 guys from guard to guard so the next best place to run is off tackle. great job u looked like a team---that was 4 games in a row. that is wheelersburg tradition team first win second.

Why are you singling us tow out when there are others saying the same thing. You have personal problem with my brother and I? You always seem to pick out our posts and make a comment on it. I posted my opinion just like a few others did and that's what this site is for. You don't like my posts you don't have to read them.

No slant downs by guards and center, even though I might have done that to the left. I was standing right in front of lang. It would have been good. Lang is so low to the ground also, all frowine had to do was fall in, Lang couldve followed.
Wheelersburg has walked in the endzone so many times with that play after being stuffed with the QB sneak the past two years. It was the right call. The only reason we discuss it now because there was a fumble. Like Dr.Rabbit said, he would have went in if ball did not come loose.
Sorry Woby, but that was a VERY bad call!
You have 1st and Goal with 50 sec. and you have several cracks at the endzone.
If the 1st attempt at a QB sneak isnt good, well line up and do it again. If not then call your T.O. and kick 3!
Bad call! WAY too much unsuccessful running and more passing needed!

i thought we had to score a td because their kicker is good from 45 yds they won their last game of the season in the last seconds---down with 52 sec. left they scored a td with about 35 sec still remaining on the clock---that is a quick score. got to score a 6 +1 not 3

Re: R19: 5) Wheelersburg vs. 1) Fredericktown@ Nelsonville York
What you don't get and what a few others have pointed out, they didn't need a TD to win, so if they get stuffed on the 2nd down play, they line up, run the clock down to about 5 seconds, spike the ball and then take their chances with a FG to win it. Why take a chance of a mis-handled handoff or a defender shooting the gap (which happened) and stopping the play for a loss or worse
. It isn't like they needed a full yard, they needed 6 inches. They ran it earlier in the game and it worked. Did you not read what demaniac put on here.
What is sad is that two years in a row, the team the Burg lost to in the playoffs has come out in the 2nd half and made adjustments and the Burg didn't. Granted, Friday's game was played without two of the better backs in the area in Scahnk and Craigmiles at full strength. Walker and Silvey did fill in nicely but than hardly saw the ball much in the 2nd half. It looked like they played in the 2nd half not to lose and I heard that from quite a few people as I was leaving.

Against what teams? Nwest?, Valley?, SPoint? This is the playoffs. Shortest distance?? Freddies had a 280+lb def tackle on that side. And they STILL got thru to hit Shank before he got to the line. My point made right there. Also, if he doesnt make it, now u place it on the left hash mark. Harder FG to make. Sometimes we outcoach ourselves. I hope ur right DR, that it will make us stronger.

They would not of had any time if you run the clock down to around 3-5 seconds on third down, then spike the ball, if they hadn't scored on 2nd down. I don't think Burg had any TO's left
Re: R19: 5) Wheelersburg vs. 1) Fredericktown@ Nelsonville York
i would take my chances on scoring the td and not have to hike the ball to a sub holder because shank is the holder and he could not hold then try and kick it when all 11 are coming. that would be a great call
. who cares what "a few people" say. score the td . playing not to lose is a way of making an excuse or placeing blame--- the proper term is ball controll ---which in my eyes was really smart with 1 back out and 1 not 100%12 point lead at the half--- win the game with the o-line and the defense. especially since u are not at full strength.

Re: R19: 5) Wheelersburg vs. 1) Fredericktown@ Nelsonville York
with no timeouts I'm not sure you could have ran the ball twice and still had time to spike it on 3rd.
Re: R19: 5) Wheelersburg vs. 1) Fredericktown@ Nelsonville York
not with the way the ref's were setting the ball . WOW! they were fast about that.
Re: R19: 5) Wheelersburg vs. 1) Fredericktown@ Nelsonville York
I might have tried to run from the spread more in the 2nd half with Lang in the shotgun. It might not have worked but they were doing a good job against the 3 backs and everyone in tight.

If they had a D-1 kicker he sure wasn't used when Freds got to the 30 and did a QB quick kick. A D-1 kicker would've hit that FG with no prob.
Also if I'm not mistaken Burg had 1 Timeout left and if you run the QB sneak and do not get it. Let the clock run down and call the T.O. and kick it so F-town hasnt got time to march down. FG or TD!
Bottom line QB Sneak! Nothing else!!
Re: R19: 5) Wheelersburg vs. 1) Fredericktown@ Nelsonville York
Nuetron, we were out of timeouts.
Again, why put a play in that runs away from the center of the field AFTER you ran the QB to the CENTER of the field? 2nd and goal at the 2 foot line, gaps are covered but a guy STANDING above your center. EASY, smack the center in the BUTT, go straight forward!! If the center were COVERED, then run the play the coaches called. One less guy to cover the gaps! Shank was atleast at the 4 yrd line before he got the ball. 4 YARDS to get into the endzone! He was hit at the 2! ENUFF said, bad call, fumble, Freddies win. Again, BAD CALL. Minford game, visitors, you kick the FG and take ur chances. EVERY1 does that, no, we go to a shotgun where now the QB is at the 5 yd line and tries to run! GET IT?

considering the injuries ---keep the game close and give your young men a chance to win it in the end. Bottom Line

Freddies kicked the ball into the endzone! Dead ball, burg takes it at the point of the kicked ball. That is why Woodward was on the field for a whole minute explaining this to the refs, they didnt agree

Exactly! Good observation!
Tressel ball!!
Re: R19: 5) Wheelersburg vs. 1) Fredericktown@ Nelsonville York
run the play that was called a power play behind your tackle guard get in. they had 4 players over our guard, center, guard.
Re: R19: 5) Wheelersburg vs. 1) Fredericktown@ Nelsonville York
tressel---putting coach woodward in the same league as tressell ---pretty good
