D4 - R15: (3) Heath vs. (2) Ironton @ Nelsonville York
Re: D4 - R15: (3) Heath vs. (2) Ironton @ Nelsonville York
Okay here is the schedule and info about the game. Gates will open two hours before the game. NY will be bringing in extra seating for the bands and some for fans. Parking is not free. The youth league will be collecting for that. There will be an extra concession stand on the visitors side ( dominoes) baking and selling pizza and drinks. The home concessions are avail to either side selling johnsonville brats, burgers, sloppy Jo and hot dogs. The NY people that are working on this expect a huge turnout so no need to think we aren't planning on that. There is no standing in the endzone as we have what a lot of ironton fans don't like, a track around the field and is fenced off. So we hope you come and enjoy our hospitality or enjoy listening to the game on the radio. Either way NY fans are pulling for your Tigers.

sounds good buckfan, I know when we get there, we'll have a beautiful stadium to play in. I'm really looking forward to it. I know, the people from NY have impressed a lot of the Ironton folk and there is hope that one day the series can be revived between the two schools.
No standing in the end zone?

Someone earlier had said something about if there wasn't enough seating they could stand in the endzone. Just wanted to let them know that there was no way to do this.
Also, the NY band boosters will be feeding both teams after the game at no charge. Hot dogs chips and drink.

Also, concessions will be open when the gates open and there will be band kids going through the stands selling pocorn, sandwiches and drinks.

Ok you're going be feeding and watering down people for 2 hours before the game and none can leave without buying another ticket to get back in (OHSAA's RULE)...how about restroom facilities?

Let's see....Heath has to overcome TRADITION ...... IRONTON FANS .... and the fans hosting the game. Yes, Ironton has a great tradition but it's nowhere the traditon that Heath league foes Newark Catholic has in football. Lately, Licking Valley has fielded better teams. Ironton may very well have tradition but if Heath loses it will be because of the present Ironton team. Also, Heath's state baseball titles and state track championship will only help if the teams are playing baseball or running track .... no bearing!

Ironton's tradition is nowhere near Newark Catholic's? Is that a joke or what, Ironton has every bit as much tradition as the Green Wave and you will soon find out about Ironton Fighting Tiger tradition

Really? You have the same football tradition as Newark Catholic?
Ironton= 2 state titles, most recent was 1989.
Newark Catholic= 25 (?) state titles, most recently 2007.

We plan on being nice to the Heath fans also, lol. It's just that NY has a history with Ironton and don't really know much about Heath. But here's to an injury free game and have a safe trip down to Nelsonville. Directions to the stadium are Turn left at BP (Rt. 78), if you are coming from Cbus on Rt. 33, stay on 78 for about a mile and a half, turn right on 12th and school is right there. You will see the stadium on your left side right before the turn onto 12th.

Its 8 state titles not 25. Yes Irontons tradition is close with newrkl Catholic. The one thing they have in common is heath would like to have just and ounce of the tradition that either of those teams have.

Well since no one mentioned just football state titles, I figured I would throw in all sports. Wait, I think I forgot a couple boys golf titles for Ironton.
I agree with you, Heath does not have the football tradition of Ironton, but we seem to do well in sports overall for a small school in central ohio.

Yes its a lot to overcome the hostile fans, the Tradition at Ironton, and just the knowledge that just in a few short days they will facing off with the legendary Tigers and the all time winningest coach in Ohio history Bob Lutz. Thats enough to make any team fold. Them throw in the facts that they will be facing a quick, huge, phyiscal line, a stable of awesome running backs, and a relentless defense. Thats just to much for an inexperienced team to handle. Ironton rolls away with this one.

Hey, Ironton doesn't have to hide their faced with anyone in the state when it comes to Tradition in the playoffs! NO one!
Ironton is a PUBLIC school, too, by the way... This is Ironton's 27th Playoff Appearance: Ironton - 2008, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999 (2nd)1998, 1995, 1994, 1993 (2nd), 1992 (2nd), 1991, 1990, 1989 (1st), 1988 (2nd), 1987, 1986, 1985, 1982 (2nd), 1980, 1979 (1st), 1975, 1973 (2nd)
No one for an instant could one belittle Newark Catholics accomplishments in the tournament but it sure doesn't detract or make Ironton's look bad either. Ironton, again, doesn't have to hide their face from anyone. If you're having people talking away this game like it's nothing for the Tigers, I'm assuring you, it's not from Ironton fans..perhaps your own people but not from Ironton
