Week 5 Minford 41 @ Oak Hill 12
The Oaks are still searching for their first win and will no doubt be gunning hard for it at home, they will also probably smell blood in the water and try to take advantage of a Minford team that has struggled at times.
Minford is searching for their identity right now. The Falcons may be reeling from a suprise loss @ Meigs 35-7. This is also their last week to get things moving in the right direction before they start SOC II play.
To be honest before the season I saw this as a trap game. I thought Minford would be 4-0 and Oak Hill would be way down, I was worried the Falcons would get caught looking toward West. At least we don't have to worry about that this week. I hope to see the Falcons get back to what they are capable of this week.

I would like to see a nice win with Minford shining in all aspects of the game before playing West.
Go Falcons!

If Minford plays the way they are capable and they dont turn the ball over or have other silly mistakes, they win.
I see this as a great opportunity for Minford to establish their offensive identity, gain some confidence and put some things together before they start conference play. But as we saw at Meigs, if they do not play hard every play, tackle well and turn the ball over, bad things will happen even against struggling teams like the Oaks.
No score predicted, just hoping Minford comes out on top and gets a few things accomplished on top of a win Friday!

Minford comes back after last week and runs through Oak Hill

Minford still has a sour taste from the playoff game last year and will come out firing on all cylinders. Expect Minford big in this one.
For all of you that are naysayers, there have been adjustments made and Minford will be right in the thick of things in the SOCII.

I have faith that Coach Daniels and staff will right the ship this week. As someone mentioned earlier there are a lot of guys on this team that have lost two of the last three to the oaks and I am sure they would love some revenge.

Oaks execute game plan and cut down on mistakes and it's either team's game. It's a rivalry game and Oaks are at home. Look for Oaks to be pumped!

Don't know what the all-time record is, but I wouldn't call this a rivalry. Sure the past few years have been very exciting and close games but that doesn't make it a rivalry.Oaksince59 wrote:Oaks execute game plan and cut down on mistakes and it's either team's game. Just over 24 hours till kick-off. I'm looking forward to this game.

Actually last years games were great. Previous years were blowouts. Not seeing much of a rivalry there either.

Most of you have short term memory loss. in 2001, it was 13-0 Minford. in 2000 it was 28-7? Oak Hill. These have been great games in the past, even when they played a few times in the late 80's and early 90's.
