MORE than they could handle in reality. Ironton really lucked out in this one but neither team played well enough by a long shot to deserve the state championship.

Well then, I guess it's a good thing that Ironton has a few more weeks to get ready for the state championship game, if they end up playing in it, huh? Why would you say something like that? You win one game at a time. That's what it's about.

Heck, luck is a factor in all sports. I had a hole-in-one and have an 18 handicap....I very wise golfer at ICC once told me the more he practices, the the luckier he gets......

Good luck to the Tigers from the Grove......

Congrats Ironton. Way to pull it out.

I thought all the regional finals were to be played on turf. if that isn't the case I would raise nines kind of hades.

I couldn't be any prouder of the Heath boys then I am right now. Nobody gave them much of a chance, and they took Ironton to the very wire, and even had a very good chance to win it with a 25 yard field goal with 5 seconds left. I am impressed with the play from both teams. No personal fouls, and both teams were helping each other up after many plays. VERY DIFFERENT FROM THE GAME AGAINST ZANE TRACE! But that goes to show you how much of an impact a great coach/community has on these young men. Heath has no reason to hang their heads. Both teams played well enough to win, and hey, somebody had to lose. Now go take care of Coshocton! Then on to state. Good luck Ironton!

That big mouth almost got him into trouble in the women's restroom at BK on the way up to the game.

THE best game I've been to in a long, long time.
Great win by the SE Ohio boys.

Old school: I think Ironton played and defeated Coshocton in 1987
in the playoffs at Peden Stadium at Ohio University. Without
resorting to irontonfootball.com, do I also remember Ironton
playing and defeating Coshocton in their 1989 title run?

Not relevant to this year's matchup, but there is a playoff
history between the two teams.

All I can say is WOW!!!! That game was amazing, If you would have told me with 4 minutes to go in that game that we would come away with the victory, I would have told you that you were crazy. A few breaks go our way and we're on to the Regional Finals. Way to go Tigers!! Now Let's go take care of Coshocton!!

Now for Heath, Your team and your fans have absolutely nothing to hang your heads about. I know loss like that can make you want to hang your heads because of disappointment. But that was an amazing game, that honestly I hated to see either team lose. That running back had some serious speed when he got out in space. The defense held with us the entire game. Your fans were pumped up from the very beginning, and constantly chanting until the very end, even after the game if I remember correct. You have earned all the respect in the world from this Tiger fan and I expect to be seeing a lot more from the Heath Bulldogs in the playoffs in the future to come.
