Week 5: Logan (0-4) @ Nelsonville-York (4-0)
The matchup many of us have been waiting for is here. Logan and Nelsonville-York renew their rivalry for the first time since 2003. This is the longest the Buckeyes and Chieftans have ever gone without playing each other.
Logan is looking for its first win after a killer schedule to start the season. Nelsonville-York is looking to go undefeated in non-league play on the year. Boston Field will be overflowing with fans come Friday night. Last one out of Hocking County, please turn out the lights!
This will be the 28th all-time meeting between the Buckeyes and Chieftans. Logan leads all-time series 21 wins, 6 losses. While Logan has dominated this series, I have always enjoyed the playoff-like atmosphere of this game. Even in the years NY lost to Logan, I have always felt this game showed NY what changes needed to be made prior to league action in the TVC, and those key changes only improved NY as a team in league play. This series was most competitive in the 1990s, as the teams split the decade with four wins each. Other than the 90's, Logan has dominated. The fans will be packed in like sardines at Boston Field come Friday night. GO BUCKS!!!!

Re: Week 5: Logan (0-4) @ Nelsonville-York (4-0)
Ive been watching NY (via Channel 15) and they look extremly good ... Beating Newark Catholic 34-12 and Bishop Ready 47-13 are stand-out wins over quality opponents ... I will not be surprised if the Buckeyes knock off Logan by 2 or more TD's.

Logan may be winless on the season but they still may be the best team N-Y has faced so far. I'm torn on which team I think will win and will have to give a little more thought on that subject.

I believe you are correct on this one. I think Logan will be Nelsonville-York's toughest test so far this year! Logan has played some great competition so far this year, while Nelsonville-York's has been mediocre. But I do believe the Bishop Ready game was a great opponent to play before playing Logan. I do believe tho, that Nelsonville-York will come out victorious and move onto 5-0 and show everyone that the Buckeyes are for real this year!
My prediction:
Nelsonville-York - 28
Logan - 21

Re: Week 5: Logan (0-4) @ Nelsonville-York (4-0)
The buckeyes have all ready proven they are legit ... diverse offense running and a good passing game. Ready started the game keying on the run and NY opened a nice passing game.. Logan knows or better know they will have their hands full they cant just prepare for stopping the run game. However imo logan being a big team D2 regardless of their record can level with a good D5 team neither team will have an easy win by any means imo. Logan could very well be the toughest test for NY yet.. like i have sias before if NY keeps playing great defense like they have been and no penalties or turnovers they will come out with another great win... i was wrong about the ready game being close but i thought playing them in columbus would make it a tighter game im glad NY won by as many as they did. But i just cant see playing logan regardless of their record because they have played tough opponents being an easy game or winning it by as much as we have been winning only because i think this will be the toughest test yet. Logan will want this win bad .. So will NY .. Home game and NY is on fire, it will be close imo but NY will win.. GO BUCKS one game at time
NY 27
Logan 24
NY 27
Logan 24

Any place in Nelsonville where you can purchase a game disk? I hear they have great TV coverage of all the sports teams down there, wish Logan TV sports was like that, but it's only got worse since Mr. Nixon left and didn't even show the home game from last night, anyway back to the game, this has all the makings of a high scoring shootout ,and Logan's defense hasn't shown they can stop anybody right now, therefor I'm changing my prediction from earlier this year and taking D5 Nelsonville over D2 Logan 42-28

Nelsonville TV cable has made dvds available of other aired events and I'm sure if you contacted the cable office they could help you out.C-Bolt wrote:Any place in Nelsonville where you can purchase a game disk? Beating Logan usually means big things for NY. Of the six wins over Logan, five resulted in undefeated 10-0 seasons - 1981, 1982, 1992, 1994 and 1997.

That's a very interesting fact '96. Very interesting indeed.

u got that right bolt. logans tv for sports here has gone way down hill. nelsonville has always had fantastic cable coverage on there sports down there for as long as i can remember. heck ya even have to drive there or go north to get taco bell. i changed my mind also. thought maybe logan would have a little to much for the buckeyes before the season started. my prediction on this game is who ever wants it the most will take it. go chiefs.C-Bolt wrote:Any place in Nelsonville where you can purchase a game disk? I love tacos and burritos to go trench ,,I agree what a shame to drive all that way,,,,, I think we need more pizza shops and antique stores around Logan not!
Re: Week 5: Logan (0-4) @ Nelsonville-York (4-0)
At least you guys have putput and a golf course!! Nelsonville has what....nothing? lol
Seriously though, I think the Buckeyes will be too much for the Chiefs this week, but it should be a good game if neither team has many turnovers or penalties. That could be the deciding factor.
