LoganLocos wrote:I hope people find the article on the history of this rivalry interesting - Coach Wolfe has told our kids to remember that this game for Nelsonville is like our game with Lancaster, and I think its a great analogy. If you look at Logan's history with Lancaster - its very similar to the Buckeyes.
Can't wait to read the article!!!! I'm glad you have those stats from the beginning of high school sports!!!
I love that analogy too. It makes total sense. And I could expand on that analogy for NY and say that the Trimble-NY game for Trimble is like the Logan game is for NY.

Hey Locos, is the article going to be anywhere else other than the Logan Daily website? I only get the Athens Messenger online and I don't live in the area anymore to be able to pick up a paper copy.

Ok, This would be a factor, Big factor, if Logan competed against these teams, but comon! They have been outscored 129 to 27 in the first half of thier 4 games... Think of any team you know with an 0-4 record and try to say they are better because of the competition they have played. This would equate if they had been competitive in any of their games. Then you better say look out! But something is wrong in Logan. Maybe they are on the shirt tales of their past but I was talking to a TE for them last night and they think this game will be ugly.. All they have to do is show up. I thought I was going to pass out standing there thinking, You havent been in one single game and you think all you have to do is show up against NY. Should Logan win? Well you got a big d2 school taking on a small d5 school shouldnt be close but from what I saw so far this year and heard this week, Things are broke in Logan. And I have to love the post that this besides Alter is the easy part of the schedule. Someone posted on JJ last week that Bishop Ready will be fine because now they enter the favorable part of the schedule. Yeah, No that didnt work out either.
LACK OF DISIPLINE!

First, yes things appear to be broke in Logan. But there is a game to play and an ongoing evaluation of the second season. Logan is now in the SEO schedule. Different animal.
Second, the analogy about Logan is that anyone here in their right mind think NY would be competitive with Lancaster, North or Burg ? Be serious. Jackson is comparable with NY with SEO football ? I don't think Jackson is very good . Would NY play with Jackson ? I don't think so.
Game is Friday and I think its a close game. 4-0 doesn't mean much in this game. I also wouldn't count on 0-4 meaning much either. We shall see.

The number of athletes available to Logan vs. Nelsonville in football is diminished by the thirty-something athletes who choose to play other sports not available at Nelsonville. Soccer anyone?NY BUCKS wrote:Its not all strengh of schedule the big part
the size of logan ..and NY..BIG DIFFRENCE..
To those who dont think so ur blind...
Strength of schedule really means little this year, as Logan only saw the starters a little over 1/2 the game.

Exactly ^^^^^^know all wrote:lets speak the truth here logan is way down this year, and n-y is really good this year 9out of10 times its always going to be logan ,but not this year if the bucks win i hope they go really far this year.now the truth about the chiefs -talent wayyyy down, not many want to play, not many went out for the team, along with a coaching staff that doesnt know what to be ,no discipline-logan is in trouble people,i hate to say it but i speak the truth.
There is no "Shocking" Logan. By now they know they have to work for every yard and concentrate on every snap. The Difference is, some past teams had some of it built in as part of their natural talent. Some teams had the athletes to overcome mistakes. This, and the next few IMO teams will have to have it drilled into their heads all winter, spring, and summer long. The only way the wins are gonna materialize is when they perform at a near mistake free level.
Someone mentioned formation changes. I see both sides, as the talent presented should dictate formation choices. Given the number of times there have been bad snaps, the QB hit in the chest with the ball without seeing it coming and number of bobbled snaps to disrupt plays, I'd also go with the "I" this year. Given the average comp/att and INT. totals it doesn't seem to be doing the team justice. I do like the the play variation we currently have. Just wish they worked!
Now that I'm done bangin' my head- I do want to say that I've seen some improvement. Although the Punt Bobble TD and the late TD made the game look closer than it was, I did see improvement. Let's hope it continues! Good luck Chiefs. I don't see a 5-5 season this year, but I think they can compete for the rest of the season.
Prove me wrong Chiefs!! Go 6-4. :122246

Is the freshman game at Nelsonville York still on for tomorrow?
Re: Week 5: Logan (0-4) @ Nelsonville-York (4-0)
I think the recent state of Logan football is a combination of lack of talent and stronger schedule than years past,,, these present classes just are not winning at the lower levels like their predecessors did although the sophomores have had decent success its no where near a super class by any means and this year and even last year schedules are just brutal, adding Reynoldsburg and catching a Pick North team that's finally getting strong like their brother school, and this year add state powerhouse Alder and a Nelsonville team that could be their best in many years and thats a recipe for disaster after losing all that talent,I still believe Logan will finish strong with the weakest part of their schedule coming up,if they can win this next game I think a 5-5 record is very attainable

Paladin_II wrote:Anybody think NY = Lancaster ? Nah, me neither. Pick North or Burg ? Not a chance in h3ll. Jackson ? Again, wishful thinking.
This will be a close game. Either could win. But blow-out ? Not likely. Most recent history of scores reveals competition even when Logan is bad.
Some folks who saw the Jackson game are not happy campers. That was somewhat competitive but its obvious there are changes ahead. No excuse for the program to fail.
Nobody said NY COULD OR WOULD COMPETE..With any of these teams...
Logan didnt compete with all but 1 of em...
I do know NY will give logan fits all nite long...
NY skill players will be the diffrence..
NY looks at Logan as a measureing stick game..Beat them ur ok..Lose to them fix whats broke..
NY is the underdog..SCHOOL SIZE ALONE..
NY will beat logan..How bad will be desided..
