Calm down poster boys. A little pre-game hype and motivational dialogue is all this is. Nobody said anything about the Waverly coach not having class. I think the comment was now its time to earn the respect of the Waverly coach. Nobody likes to be overlooked or devalued. Lets just prepare to play good baseball and be good supporters and fans. Lets also pray for good weather. ps love you guys

Didn't Waverly shut out Warren last year?

Warrens coach is making a big deal out of nothing- players dont need anything to motivate them for a sectional final game - if they do then the coach isnt doing his job to start with.

I believe I said Waverly would play with class. Great game between two good teams. What a screwy call of the foul ball-home run-ground rule double. They had three chances and still didn't get it correct. The ball hit the foul pole and bounced back onto the playing field in foul territory. Should have been advance at the runners risk. Thankfully those two runners scored so nothing to whine about.

Well played by both squads. Waverly third baseman played an outstanding hot corner. The call by the Umpires was correct by rule. The home plate umpire said it hit the foul pole, which it did, and signaled HR. It makes the ball a dead ball at that point. However, the ball hit the foul pole below the top of the blue wall and that is not a HR. The field umpire agreed it hit the foul pole but it just didn't register that it was below the blue wall. Umpires made the only call that was feasible after the HR signal.....but, like you previously posted, No harm no foul.....Enjoyed the chatter with the 3 bagger.....

Good game men in blue. TP great pitching tonight. Nice clutch hitting by JK,LK,TG AH and MT. How about that leather by TW in the top of the 7th. Stay focused and humble and keep having fun with the game of BASEBALL. A couple more wins and we might get to see ZANESVILLE again. You only get better when you play the best. Circleville is next this coming Monday at 7:00 pm in the V at chillicothe. SEE YOU THERE........ :-D :) :o

The home plate umpire originally called it foul and the base umpire overruled and gave the home run signal. Why is there a gap between the two fences? Is it a homerun if it goes over the chain link fence and under the blue wall?

Waverly 003 000 0 -- 3
Warren. 000 231 x -- 6

After Waverly put the three runs on the board and Warren came back with two in the bottom of the 4th with 2, I thought the top of the 5th was a very important half inning. Wverly's lead-off batter hit a double and it looked like Waverly was doing what a good team should and respond with at least a run of their own to get the lead back to two. However, the Warren defense made the plays and got 3 outs before Waverly could get the run across. I thought for Warren to keep the deficit at one was very big at that time to keep in close striking distance.

The Waverly 3rd baseman made several good plays, including thrrowing out the 2nd batter for the 2nd out in the fateful bottom of the 5th. The wind was blowing pretty hard from 1st to home, making a difficult throw into the wind, and on that play he threw it on a line about 8' to the outside of 1st and the wind brought it back some and the first baseman stretched out to get it for the out. The 3rd batter hit another grounder to third that would have ended the inning, that was probably an easier play than the one just before. On this one, he didn't throw it on a line to the left of the bag, and it got hung up in the wind and drifted to far inside to be caaaught on the bad and the runner reached, later scored the tying run, and then the big 2 run HR over the LF wall put Warren in control.

Of the whole game I'll bet Waverly would name that play first if they could have one back!

rule 1.4.3....no players on the same team shall wear identical numbers.

Did Warren and Marietta make up that postponed game on May 11. If so, what was the final score? Thanks.

Thanks. If it is made up, I'll need the score to complete my final 2010 SEOAL standings.
