Did you even watch the kid play? Obviously not or you wouldn't be on here running your mouth. I would be willing to bet that he would start on just about any team in the area as a sophmore. Stop crying because pendleton didn't win a award and give the kid credit. He deserves some!

circlevilletiger.....No one said Coach Hall was the clear-cut choice.

I know I didn't.

But Jackson wasn't supposed to do much better than 3-7 or therebouts by most preseason pundits. He is more than deserving of the honor.

Keyser I was answering a poster (the cav guy) who said the coach shouldn't had to share the honor which is the line of debate. All three coaches on the list did a good job coaching and I don't want to seem like I'm slamming the Jackson coach or the other two, but if it is a vote about overachieving then Court House would have to be the No. 1 team that overachieved. I watched them last year and they were very bad. The job the coach did was very good. This comes from a Circleville graduate and Court House was one of our big rivals when we were in the SCOL together.

based on a recommendation from their coach right? isnt his dad a coach and his cousin the head coach. as i said in another post nothing against the kid. i think there are jrs and srs in ALL of south-east Ohio that shouldve recieved the award before a sophmore did. i say again that i have nothing against the kid and he should be proud. just the voting looks more iffy on the district team that on the soc. and no as i said i have no family in the running.

I think it would acutally be "nephew", and not by blood, by marriage.

As if it matters!

Even if Tyler was a freshman, he is deserving of the award. Tiebow won the Heisman as a sophomore. Who cares about age, lets focus on stats, accomplishments and ability.

Thurston Crybaby,

So they aren't aloud to suggest the kid from their team who led them in tackles just because he is related to a coach? Once again grow up!

wasnt crying on there. i mentioned how several players quit because of a jv coach who is thankfully no longer coaching at minford. say what you want but the numbers dont lie. ask those kids today why they didnt come back and they all say the same thing. They all like coach martin but the ex-jv coach ran several of them off. not trying to debate that again. just go ask some of the jv players from 2 seasons ago. you just have to be willing to accept the truth.

back to this subject....forget what i said. you all are right. a sophomore should win it over juniors and seniors. i am sure it is just peoples imagination that most teams ran away from sloan. i do honestly wish him the best. a lot to live up to the next 2 years though.

Why don't you crawl back from wherever you came from. You have no idea what you are talking about and apparently have issues. Every kid on the SOC and District teams deserved it or they would not be there so get over it.

By no means am I an expert. I was a high school basketball coach in that sport we did NOT recommend kids for the AP honors. The area sports writers do that. We do recommend for coaches poll. Just what I know. May be different in football. And why just bcause they are juniors or seniors should they win an award? If the kid deserved it he should get it. No matter what grade he is in. Same way with playing time. Talent plays. Not what grade you are in. Matter of fact, if a sophmore is as good as a senior, I would play him. He will only get better because of it.

Someone may have an argument about a different player being defensive POY, running down the young man who received the honor shows a total lack of class.

I would have to say Monnig from Ironton is the best DE in SEO. Nothing against Nick Kemper he's a fine high school DE. Monnig was the DPOY in D4 Southeast District and plays DE, so he gets my nob.

I would take Murphy from West over any I saw. He and Kemper matched up alot in that game, and with the 3 straight sacks he definately got the best of that matchup. Most of the year, teams just ran away from him.

Siderman, If you watch the film again the 3 great sacks that Murphy had was not on Kemper's side. I would have to say it would be nice to have both of these two boys on the same team. The linebackers would clean-up because they contain and make the backs cut it up, nothing outside.
