How can Coach Lutz not be the coach of the year? He broke the record a feet in its self and he has the Fighting TIGERS rolling toward a state championship.

Re: 2009 LoganFootball.com All-SEOAL Team
i don't buy it either. both other coach's had great years, but jackson and warren fell apart the end of the year. coach lutz became the winningest coach in ohio high school history. and the tigers are still very much alive in week 13. at the very least , coach lutz and coach amyx , should have been co-head coaches. neither of the other 2 programs even made the playoffs, even though they had good turnaround seasons. boo.

Well I for one declare Coach Lutz the Coach of the Century!
Way to go Coach Lutz
GO TIGERS GO!!!

There will always be questions to selections, but this is a far better option than the previously announced all SEOAL team. Congratulations to all who were on either.

Re: 2009 LoganFootball.com All-SEOAL Team
I'll give my unpopular opinion. I would give the nod to Hall at Jackson for coach of the year too. Sure Coach Lutz broke the all-time wins record in Ohio this year, but the Tigers were expected to finish about the way they did. On the other hand, Jackson lost everyone and I would not have been surprised to see them at 3-7; but they were far better because of coaching. This is not to say that any of these coaches are better than Bob Lutz, because that isn't the case. It is just that they did better with what they had this year and exceeded expectations.
GO TIGERS!!!
GO TIGERS!!!

He broke the record! He shouldn't get COY for a lifetime achievement.
If he needed 2 wins coming in to the year and Ironton went 2-8, would you say he should be COY because he broke the record. If you would have said he deserves it because his team is still standing in the playoffs then you would have an argument!!!

Re: 2009 LoganFootball.com All-SEOAL Team
I AGREE , THE FIGHTING TIGERS ARE 10-2 RIGHT NOW. AND LOGAN'S COACH. COACHED HIS TEAM TO AN UNDEFEATED REGULAR SEASON.
Re: 2009 LoganFootball.com All-SEOAL Team
Talk from some on here was that Ironton would be 6-4 at the end of the regular season and may or may not make the play-offs. Well...... Coach Lutz coached his team to an 8-2 regular season and has the TIGERS headed to week three of the play-offs. Now where is Jackson playing this week? Warren? Logan? etc, etc, etc...

Talk all pre-season was that Ironton would be 10-0, certainly not 6-4.
Lutz did what he was supposed to do. Coach Amyx won the league. He did what he was supposed to do.
Hall and Pifer took struggling programs who nearly NO ONE expected to be above .500. Both teams went 7-3. I'd say that's "exceding" expectations.
Lutz and Amyx "MET" expectation.

Re: 2009 LoganFootball.com All-SEOAL Team
I think this was a very good effort by LoganLocos. It looks as if most if not all teams are at least represented. I would like to see Robbie Webb and Sam Cramblit join Barker on the first team line. I don't believe there are 3 better linemen in southeastern Ohio or the SEOAL. I would've had Coach Lutz and Logan's coach as co-coaches of the year. Overall, I do like this list.
Re: 2009 LoganFootball.com All-SEOAL Team
I like the list and, The coaches look right also.

Great Job, this is well thought out and intelligently done. It's done so that a kid that goes one way does not get punished for doing so. This to me is the All Conference Team I go by, great job Locos.

Locos, you always out do yourself with your conference team. Super job on the selections and i agree with 42ISO, well thought out and intelligently done. Keep up the Great Work Locos
Re: 2009 LoganFootball.com All-SEOAL Team
I would of liked to see Clifford get COY. I think expectation at Portsmouth this year after a 1-9 season were much lower than at Warren or Jackson. From 1-9 to 7-3 and 9th in the region for the playoffs. Other than that, I can't really see any disagreement with your selections. Great Job and Thanks for all of your efforts.
