The game was much closer than the final score. The score was 12-6 to start the 4th quarter. Then Caldwell just fell apart.
Re: Monroe Central 41 Caldwell 14
the last 2 td's were not necessary at all. don't understand why the 1st string still had to be out with 45 seconds left. i understand it wasn't nixon's fault he scored, but he shouldn't have even been out there

What the Hell are you talking about? Are you an apologist, or an excuse seeker? The last two TD's were not necessary? The score was what, 27-14? Are you talking about the Alexander - Frontier game? I can understand your statement with that game, being 66-14, and the final score was 80-14 (but Alex did not run it up, Frontier just has no defense).vigril wrote:the last 2 td's were not necessary at all. don't understand why the 1st string still had to be out with 45 seconds left. i understand it wasn't nixon's fault he scored, but he shouldn't have even been out there
12-6 going into the 4th quarter. Final score 41-14? I don't think I'd be whining or looking for excuses. Wheels fell off the Redskins bus and they ended up getting their tails kicked. That is how it reads in the books. JC doesn't run it up on anyone. 41-14 is not a show no mercy bloodbath.

im not sure if you were at the same game as me, but it was 27-6 with around 5 minutes left. they weren't going to come back. i'm not whining or looking for excuses. i don't even like caldwell. and if you say he doesn't run up the score, then why was 1st string still in with 43 seconds left? please enlighten us on all of your knowledge

I wasn't at the game, but was Caldwell's first string still in the game? I ask because I've been to many Jay Circosta games and he subs the very next play the opposing team takes out their starters. I can't imagine that after a 40 year sample size that he just suddenly changed tonight and became sadistic and kept his first string in against Caldwell's second string. So if Caldwell's first string is still in at 27-6 with 5 minutes left you want Circosta to put his second team in? Give me a break dude. If Caldwell was done at that point and didn't want another couple TDs put up on them then it was their responsibility to start subbing and I GUARANTEE you it would have been a JV game from then on. Otherwise, if it was first string vs first string and only 27-6 then anything goes. Caldwell scored again they apparently didn't stop trying.

Read this. Sounds like MC could have scored again, but Circosta ran out the clock. Last two MC scores were long runs. I guess Nixon was just supposed to fall down or take a knee.

Didn't get to go to this one, but took a few glances at the scores at work. It seemed like it was close, then I blinked and it was blown apart.
To say that Jay Circosta doesn't run the score up on anyone is just hilarious.

ahhh..Thats how we like it, Serenity Now. The Seminoles seem to do their talking on the field.
I can vouch for the not running up the score.. We were up by 42 pts in the 2nd against Waterford my Senior year. F-Troop (JV) was in, except for a punt return, 4th down Waterford was punting. We block a punt that was ran back for a TD, by a Senior playing his last game. We had our rears reamed by JC for not just falling on the ball.

Nixon is a sophmore its not like Kinchen was throwing 80 yard bombs. If Caldwell did not want MC to score 2 more tds they should have stopped him. This is Varsity football not peewee.41-14 is not running it up 80_14 is running it up.Jay Circosta is agreat guy and would never try to embaress anyone.

no. and you would be an idiot to do that. i just don't understand why he, or any other starters were still out there.

Still can't get up over the hump against Central. Was a good game for quite a while, and like others have said, Caldwell just fell apart. That's why i'm so hesitant to say that this team is "for real" like some wanted to do after the first two weeks of the season. They're decent, but they're just not balanced enough on offense. Teams can load the box and pretty much shut down the entire offense. Plus they've still got Barnesville, WCC, and Shenandoah. I think they CAN make the playoffs, but i'm not sure if they'll make any noise if they do.

You won't answer my question. Was Caldwell's first string still in the game or not?vigril wrote:I guess Nixon was just supposed to fall down or take a knee.

Enough of the running up the score stuff. If you don't want scored on, then stop them. And this is coming from a Caldwell fan.
MC is the better team and they showed it last night. I still think Caldwell is a good team, but they're not a complete team. Skins need to pick up the intensity on defense and figure out a way to become more balanced on offense. Bounce back this coming week with a win against River.

Re: Monroe Central 41 Caldwell 14
Seems funny that the question of Monroe Central even having their 1st string in the game late in 4th quarter is even brought up. I watched the game and never even thought about the jv entering the game. Caldwell tried an on side kick after their last score. Were they giving up? MC had a couple long scores late in game. Also MC's young players need the playing time. Not like MC has a lot of seniors. The young starters need the reps. I also recall the last 2 years when MC put in the jv late in the game,Caldwell never took their starters out!! For people to say Coach Circosta would run up the score is bull. He is one class act!!
