Piketon should be good again. These boys had a good biddy ball team and should compete for the S.V.C crown.

Western has a good 7th grade team. They have already scrimmaged Waverly and beat them. Good team with alot of depth. If they keep working hard they should be special.

In the area??,,, I heard that the Raceland 7th grade team was LOADED this year. 2 transfers in the Messer kid and the Dixon kid both from Russell. I heard that another transferred off their basketball team from last year but is not playing basketball this year, the Bryant kid. I heard that they got beat by Mason Co 7th grade team at the East Carter Tournament for the Championship Game. BUT I hear Mason should win their BIG school Conference in 7th grade this year!! I know the Rock Hill crew (7th) grade team this year should be good too. with the Falls kid, Cox kid and Noel kid. I had a chance to watch that team play last year.... HOT!!

Portsmouth's 7th grade went undefeated in football and have an excellent chance to do the same in basketball.......they are an exceptionally talented group of athletes.......one of the best to come along in Portsmouth in quite some time.

Re: 7TH GRADE BOYS BASKETBALL.
After leading the Trojans 21-7 in the first half, Raceland played 10 players in the second and almost let the Trojans come back to claim victory. The RAMS played hard the first half, but faultered in the second and the TROJANS found their grooooooooove...!!!!!!!.. The Trojans came back to within 1 point at one time but RACELAND held on to seal the victory. THIS was more exciting than the score shows. The TROJANS were "RED HOT" and pushed the RAMS to the limit in a couple of trips to the basket..... Portsmouths STANDOUT ATHLETE in the second made 28 points and almost sent the RAMS to pasture....P-Town played well for their first official game and I would hate to be the teams that will face them later in the season, Great Size, Great Speed, GREAT BALL HANDLING ability..... Like I said,, if it was not for the first half being RAM PRIDE TOUGH, this could have been very different. I applaud the P-Town Young Men in a great basketball game tonight....... Good luck to them in the rest of their season......
