How can ya say that with a straight face.....LOL....We now run a combination between the wing -tee, power-I, full house backfield & Spread.... It's funny how everyone hated the spread a few years ago, but now it is the greatest and most successful formation we run....LOL
Exactly.......

We have no offensive identity.

I would like someone with game film to look at our formations and see what percentage of plays we line up in wing-t this year. my guess is it is only about 40% maybe less. I think they have done a great job adapting our offense to the personnel that we have.

I wouldn't necessarily argue this, but it seems as if we only go to the power stuff when nothing else works. At Licking Heights, we didn't get into the power stuff until the 2nd quarter and it was successful and we ran variations of it the rest of the game and got the win. Against Wellston, we came out in the wing T and only went to the power stuff after it wouldn't work and even then wouldn't stick with it. Marietta was so bad that we could have done whatever we wanted and scored. We didn't run the power stuff against them hardly at all. And then tonight, we come out in the spread which we haven't run all year. What were we thinking? I'll be interested to see the stats from the game.

yes I wanna complain about 1 call we are a running team Taylor up the middle was the best we got so here he is stop us if you can----- instead we let Taylor run his heart out get down to the 2 yard line and we decide to pass he carried us 80 yards they could not stop him and I know Brandon he would have clawed his way thru for the td instead we put it all on the shoulders of our sophmore qb against our biggest rival? come on guys the loss would set alot better if we were given a chance to win and Bluesteel I would not expect an sg alumni to understand the importance of this win these boys will carry this with them the rest of there lives you can coddle the coaches all you want thats the 2 nd game the play calling in the 4 th quater has cost us the game.

Wow! This must have been a great game to watch. It sounds like Gallia was more than a handful for the Tigers and could have won this game pretty easilly. I know there's no such thing as a good loss but the Devils should hold their heads high after this one.

On offense GAHS must not worry about being boring. We have went to a two tight end power running game when nothing else has worked. We have also put an extra lineman in the backfield to have an additional blocker. We should start with this offensive concept, if we get a couple of scores behind it will probably be too late to use it. Go blue.
Congratulations to the tigers on a hard fought victory.
We went to the power running game AFTER we got behind and we were running out of time. We punched it down to the two and tried to pass on fourth down. Why not give it to a warrior like #10. Run him behind your all league lineman. So they were probably expecting it. When the game is on the line go with your best back behind your best lineman. The above post was pre game and it told the story of the game. Run what is best suited for your personnel even if its boring.

Most high school teams have different skill sets over time. Offense should be ran out of a formation that best fits the ability of the team of a given year. A spread, wingT, powerI, etc. you pick it as long as it fits your personnel. I personally don't care as long as it fits the available talent. When a team adjusts their defense to counter something you are doing well your play book must be able to make their defense pay for they adjustments they made. You can be successful from any formation if you properly execute it.

Colleges recruit athletes with particular skills to fit a particular offense.
High schools don't have that option.

Glad the mrs. came out okay. Those mega waits in the ER suck. Great game, hope you get a chance to see the film.

Congrats Tigers on the win and good luck to the Blue Devils the rest of the season.

Great to see Dion Brown back in the lineup.

This is the slowest Ironton team i have seen, pretty evenly matched teams, Jackson should walk through the seoal this year.

the same people complaining about wing T and no imagination etc are now complaining we should have lined up tight and smashed mouthed it. there's just no pleasing some people.
We will never improve our program offensively running the Wing-tee...
Did someone say this a couple years ago??
Uhm I did!
This offense is a DIV 6 offense,we do not have the speed to break big runs but we can pass our way down the field,to take pressure off the run.

sabotage
Definition...... Intentional obstruction of an activity, or willful and malicious destruction. I woke this morning and guess what was there? Last nights football game. The above definition was right there. Coach Eddy, You better be taking a long hard look at your coaching staff if they continue to make calls like that!!!!!

Great post Mrs M..... A wise coach once told me when the game is on the line get the ball to your best player..... To bad that wise coach wasn't around last night to make the call.... This game should be remembered for the great effort by our players, but we all know what most fans will remember... We could dissect this game forever, but bottom line is we scored ZERO points... Time to move on and let this defeat go...
