There was no need to. It was a dumb comment.
Are you trying to tell me that a team of the best players in the OVC this year couldn't have beaten Gallia Academy, Marietta, Chillicothe, or probably even Warren or Portsmouth? Portsmouth didn't exactly win impressively against South Point.
Just because Ironton doesn't dominate the SEOAL like they used to doesn't mean the conference is anything special football-wise.

People keep bringing up the S. Point vs Portsmouth game and how close it was. But don't tell the fact Portsmouth played that game without 4 starters due to injury and academics.

Casey Sanders - All District/All SEOAL (OT)
Jalen Kennedy - 2 yr starter LB and Captain of the team
London Malone - All District/HM All SEOAL AND 4YR starter CB/WR
Mason Jordan - Starting CB

I JUST KNEW someone from Portsmouth wouldn't be able to resist commenting on that part of the post.
That wasn't even the point of my post. . . just a little tid-bit to show that most of the SEOAL aside from Ironton and Logan could potentially be beaten by this mythical OVC all-star team tl85 brought up. Coal Grove alone could have won at least 3 games in the SEOAL this year and South Point could have last year.

Too bad the Ironton vs. NY week 9 game couldn't continue. With Belpre moving down to the TVC Hocking, NY has lost its non-league week 9 game it had the past two years. All of NY's non league games are in weeks 1-5 now. Last I heard, NY still has week 5 open for next year, but I see on the Ironton schedule that Ironton already has a week 5 game. Maybe something can be worked out between the two schools again in the near future.

Dumb post. We could all just say that the mighty Ironton Tigers ran from the competition of Logan/Zanesville since they can't beat them anymore. People on here cry about certain posters from Logan but then make these kind of comments.

Why couldn't an all-star team do well, Ironton has proven that a team of all-stars can compete on a yearly basis? Take a look at the last state championship team, how many players played in the OVC for at least 1 season?

coal grove couldnt beat oak hill how could they compete in the seoal? that all star team would only be so so talentwise otherwise the ovc wouldnt get ran out of the playoffs early every year when they do happen to make them. the ovc is a d IV with dIV-V talent. the seoal is a dIII -IV-II league with dII-III talent. some leagues play up some play down. this would be ivy league playing in the sec. uuuggglly

Oak Hill would have been able to beat every team in the SEOAL except for Ironton and Logan and if you know anything about area football, you know that's the truth. I'm not saying they would have beaten all those teams, but they could have.
They will probably win Region 19 next year and only lost to this year's regional champ by a TD. . . and had a chance to tie it up at the end.
Ivy league playing SEC? You had that in the SEOAL this year (and every year). You had Chillicothe, Marietta, and Gallia Academy all bunched in together trying to stay out of the cellar. Portsmouth nearly sneaked into the playoffs, yet they got absolutely trounced by Wheelersburg and lost by three or four scores to Ironton.
Then you had Jackson, who lost handily to every good team they played and should have lost to Portsmouth. They struggled with Wellston and Waverly and Gallia Academy - all of whom ended up mediocre.
After Logan and Ironton, it was a LONG way down in the SEOAL.
So to say your mythical team of OVC all-stars couldn't win games in the mediocre SEOAL is very uninformed and makes me wonder what the cause of your deep-seated hatred toward the rest of the county is.
Could it be that maybe you spent time yourself in the OVC?? :122249

It's possible. . . but the other circumstances are probable.
I'd say an Oak Hill/Ironton game would look similar to the NY/Ironton game this year - entertaining at some points, but Ironton wins handily in the end. Oak Hill is probably more physical than NY, though.
Logan/OH is no contest. Logan can cover anything Oak Hill wants to do through the air (see: Logan/Canal Winchester, 1st round of the playoffs) which means their running game will suffer.

There are some carp fishermen posting on this thread, they throw out a 'dough ball' and wait. There have been some that took it hook line and sinker.

Oh I know what his game is pappy - I've been on here a long time.
What it boils down to is he knows little about area football (even his own beloved Ironton Tigers) and for some reason chooses to belittle the OVC even when the topic has nothing to do with it.
It's probably just some dumb little teeny-bopper on here during class or after school, but he needs to learn a lesson in humility because 99% of the posts I've read of his just give Ironton fans a bad name.
The only difference between he and someone like Paladin from Logan is the fact that Paladin actually seems to know a bit about Ohio football. This other joker knows nothing about football (or at least doesn't show any real knowledge) and resorts to baiting the topic. So I'd say he's either a child or just has the mind of one.
