I want to give credit to the Ironton team. They came in with a great game plan and played the Blue Devils very physical and almost pulled off the win. They play very hard. Came up on the short end but what a great effort.

South point loses to Portsmouth in a game they should have never lost....Portsmouth got every break possible to get this win...both in regulation and OT...Not making excuses but SP even though they have lost twice to Portsmouth are the better team.....

The Peake lost a lot from graduation. Starting 1 senior who played last year. 2 juniors 1 from jv and 1 who didn't play last year. 1 sophomore from jv and 1 freshmen. Coach Davis has started 2 freshmen once this year. They have a good class of freshmen and junior high teams are looking good.

mrwonderful: I totally disagree about South Point being better than Portsmouth despite losing both games to the Trojans. SP simply made too many turnovers last night, especially late, and it cost them the game. They had the 4 point lead with less than a minute to go in regulation and didn't play keep away. They fouled DJ Eley on a 3 pointer with just .3 of a second on the clock. In OT, they had a 66-60 lead after hitting two 3 pointers and then let the Trojans go on an 11-0 run with their top two scorers for the year (Reynolds and Malone) sitting on the bench.

Portsmouth had an 18 point lead in the 3rd quarter in the first game at PHS, and the Trojans ended up winning by 10. I haven't seen any evidence whatsoever that backs up your statement. You didn't present any facts at all to support your claim. I just did.

Your exactly right Dave they give the game to Portsmouth....SP literally gift wrapped them the game both in regulation and again in OT...The 1st game SP goes up 9-2 then shoots like 26 percent the rest of way...Absolute worse game tenfold they played in 2 years...I'm not saying Portsmouth is terrible ..I've watched them play 4 different times and I just feel SP is a better team... Crazy things happened in both games...especially 2nd game....What will help Portsmouth is they play in a bracket that is a lot weaker than the Jackson Bracket....Just my opinion...Everyone has one...

Love it when teams lose and come on here and say we are the better team lmao you lost to the twice! Maybe you shot 26 percent because their defense was pretty good. In my opinion he best team fi,Des a way to win by the way what percentage did Portsmouth shoot? I don't think they shoot a high percentage in any game they just find ways to win.

If south point keeps blowing games they should win because they are better ,maybe the problems not the TEAM.

OMG dontreply has his panties in a wad because in my opinion SP is a better all around team......And SP is well Coached from JV to the High School Coach...Sometimes bad breaks, officiating, and luck play a part in who wins...Coal Grove spanked your AZZ ! Do I feel Coal Grove is better than Portsmouth? Nope...Just because a team wins a game doesn't mean their better....South Point in my opinion is better than Portsmouth...Alexander beat Vinton County...Are they better? nope...If SP and Portsmouth meet again and Portsmouth wins I'll still believe SP has a better team.... Just the way I feel...In baseball last year we beat Gallia county twice...I still feel Gallia had a better all around team than us even though we beat them twice....It's ok to say we got extremely lucky to win dontreply and that luck did play a part in us winning the 2nd game with SP....No one will take away from Portsmouths storied past....

Its basketball man. The dragons beat ironton by 41 the first game and if ironton doedt turn the ball over late in 4th and makes last minute free throws they would have came away with a win.
