2010 REDS
Well I guess it is never to early to talk baseball. With the winter meetings upon us and Spring Training around the corner, what do you all think.
Will the REDS make any good moves to get some pitching?
Will they find a power bat?
Will they be able to make a run this year?
The Reds will open the season at home (of course) against the Cards on April 5th.

Re: 2010 REDS
I don't think they will go out and spend a ton of money on the biggest free agents, but I do expect them to find 1 or 2 guys to round out the line up. They need one more decent pitcher to fill out the rotation and they need to find a power bat. I think they can find both at a good price. They are a young team and there leaders aren't ready to be leaders yet so that has hurt them a lot. They weren't very consistant either.

Re: 2010 REDS
If they are going to say they are a speed team then they need to commit to it. Last year Baker talked and talked about being aggressive on the base paths and getting a lot of steals but it never happened.

Brewers should be in this poll. Milwaukee has a better chance of winning the Central than a couple of the other teams.

The Reds have quite a few pieces and may add or trade for a few more that aren't costly. I'm looking forward to see if the pieces can come together to play smart, be patient at the plate, stay healthy, and make a good run.

Re: 2010 REDS
There isn't much that is going to happen at the winter meetings. They was looking at Miguel Tejada and Orlando Cabrera, but they are never going to truely offer them I do believe. We was also going after Crosby to fill our shortstop roll but he is prolly going to end up signing with the Pirates. Then there is 35 year old Jamey Carroll. Really looks like we are going to land him. If we don't there is speculation that we are going to move Brandon Phillips to Shortstop and let Janish and Rosales play 2nd. There is a Saturday deadline to tender an offer to Johnny Gomes. If he is non-tendered, Gomes would become a free agent.
All in all look for about the same Reds team on the field next year.

Healthy is the biggest thing because we are not going to do nothing in the free agency market. We don't want to spend the money
