Re: 2010 REDS
I dont have a problem with Bruce in the lineup. His defense is awesome. I would just move him down to 7th or 8th. Rolen being hurt is going to hurt, if he is out for any time at all
Re: 2010 REDS
Starting pitching has been remarkable for the last two weeks!
To the pen....
What are your thoughts on Jason Isringhausen? I heard they were offering him a deal after one bullpen session. In his prime he was tough to hit, but he hasn't played for a while.
Cardinals win 7th in a row, so Cincy's still .5 games back.
Face Strausburg tonight, hopefully the Reds will shell the hell out of him.

I agree. Drop him down to the 8 hole and take the pressure off until he gets his rhythem back. He is getting to the point where he is changing something in his swing every AB. They need to settle him down make him stick with what got him to the bigs and let him work it out in the bottom of the line up.
Re: 2010 REDS
I would stick with him, he has one of the best arms in game. He has thrown several runners out this year trying to go from first to third. Move him to 8th, it helped Stubbs moving down in the order. Bruce also got robbed of a homer on a great defensive play by the Rockies.

If you were pitching and Bruce was up with first base open and the pitcher up next, wouldnt you at least consider an unintentional intentional walk, hoping (knowing) he doesnt need a pitch in the strike zone to swing and miss?
It is true he will see less AB's but I think it takes pressure ioff of him to produce until he gets through his slump. He gets a lot of pitches off the plate now. There isn't a pitcher in the N.L. who goes right at him.
I do think Dusty knows whats best for him so I think Bruce will come around soon.
We tend to forget he is still pretty young, Sometimes it takes the young guys a little longer to get out of a slump because they try to do to much.

If Leake was on deck I would pitch to Bruce and walk Leake.

The Dog Days of Summer!
I lost most of my affection for baseball over the years. Now NASCAR isn't even a diversion. I was never a Dale Earnhardt fan but like the song goes.... "The Day the Music Died." Hasn't been the same since. Now I spend the summer looking forward to football. "Where have you gone, Joe Dimaggio?" Or for that matter, Tony Perez, The Big Dog!

The last 5 or 6 times out old Roy hasn't been great against the Reds. Today he got roughed up early!
