I think all 3 of those things you mentioned is what SHOULD get him some looks.

Take a look at these 5 QB's for "major" schools and their height, weight, and speed AT TIME OF RECRUITMENT from high school or JUCO.

Scott Tolzien
Wisconsin
6'2"
174
40 time Not Available

Joey Elliot
Purdue
6'2"
190
4.63

Zac Lee
Nebraska
6'2"
200
4.6

Kirk Cousins
Michigan State
6'3"
171
4.83

Todd Reesing
Kansas
5'11"
180
4.7

I believe that Patrick is comparable to size, speed, and 40 time to all 5 of these guys. I believe Pat is posted as 6'1", 205, and 4.6. If you are saying that he lacks that much in reading defenses, then I don't think he would have been as successful as what he was in high school. All 5 of the quarterbacks I listed were 2-3 star QB's. Pat HAS to be as good as these guys.

On the other hand, Pat definately has the size, speed, and ability to play Safety at the next level (D1 big school).

I think where the ball gets dropped is the coaching staff getting their athletes names out there. Tell me this.....how does Portsmouth, Chillicothe, and other schools in our league get athletes to D1 schools and we don't. It is because we lack recruiting coordination. It was a downfall with the 2000 team. We had D1 talent then, but the coaching staff expected the D1 schools to come calling on the athletes. The coaching staff should be working with the "legit" college prospect athletes during their junior year on getting their name out there.

You might have hit it Safety would be his position at the next level. Listen most all all logan skilled players this year were on the small side. Pat might be well off look at the JUCO route or mid major. I still disagree with you as far as reading defenses, I am not taking anything away from Pat, but when the Chiefs played strong teams Pat was just a good QB, again decsion making and reading defenses is the key!

I wasn't saying with what I threw out there with the stats that he is a college quarterback at those schools. I agree that he is at least worth the look and has the talent for a mid level program such as a MAC school, etc. I am sold that his step at the next level should be Safety, especially with his history at QB and the defensive side of the ball. He has the ability to get into the mind of a quarterback having that history on his side. I think he will be able to read QB's better than he will defenses. And yes, Logans skill positions are always small. I think the last skill position player we had with some size was Jason Dicken. He was marginal talent wise, but had some size to him at 6'6" I believe. We are always undersized at the receiver position. RB size is in the eye of the beholder. You see more and more "smaller" guys these days contributing at the collegiate and pro levels.

YSU just got a new HFC , Eric Wolford a former assistant at South Carolina under Steve Spurrier, who was a former player at Ursuline before starting for 4 years at Kansas St. I have recommended Pat to them as a S-OLB and let them use their judgement as to his QB ability. Will be interested to see where this goes.

Hopefully he takes that offer to play in the North-South All Star Game. Any word on whether he is foregoing his basketball season to recoup his knee for his football future?

We all know Pat he is a competor and will try to play basketball. If I could advise him, I would have him rehab his knee and forget about basketball. His future is in football.

Coaches are saying he could be back playing between Christmas and the first part of January.

Orange and Brown..........you need to chill out. We are in no way saying "he NEEDS to do this" or "this is the ONLY way to go". We are only merely saying that IF we were in a position to advise him, which I know I am not personally, we would give our OPINIONS. We are stating our OPINIONS on here. There is no way you are telling me that during the football season YOU don't say the NY football team "SHOULD HAVE" done this or this athlete "SHOULD HAVE" done that.....ESPECIALLY in an NY loss. So, maybe the NY Buckeyes are lucky that they have you to advise them. With all due respect, what card do you have in this poker game? If you cannot see that we are merely expressing opinions, then don't post on this thread. We Logan fans are taking them as that, OPINIONS. Sounds like we have an actual diagnosis for those River Rats, its called River Ratitis. I think it went upstream in the Hocking to Nelsontucky and you contracted it. I am glad the water is clean on our side of the county line. Go get that checked out Orange and Brown.

Nah, I'm not going to pop a blood vessel. I have dealt with more stressful people and situations than the likes of you on here. And again, opinions are great. Just don't be calling people out on bogus comments like you made. Good luck to Pat in the future, the 2010 Chiefs........and for ole' O and B, the NY Buckeyes.

This is by far the best high school QB that I have seen in many years and I don't understand why some teams have not jumped on this kid, not only is he a great athlete he is a great kid as well.

Isn't Pat also a very good baseball player?
If he plays in this all star game on April then he will be missing 3 weekends of baseball.
Didn't the SEOAL just go to league DH on Sat? Say good by to the league.

I wonder if he has contacted the new staffs at Marshall or Louisville. Strong's OC is Sanford and he ran the spread for Meyer at BG I think. Angle is good in that scheme.

You know I hate it when I hear people say he is only 6' 1" tall. Since when is that not tall enough for a College QB???????

Look at Drew Breese. He is ONLY 6'1" and not only did he have a great college career, but now he is destroying the NFL on a weekly basis.

I'd rather have a 6'1" kid with leadership and talent (ANGLE) then a 6'4" stiff any day of the week!!!!!!!!!!!!!
