I hear that about all the football boys, other than those playing different sports, are hitting the weight room hard! I love when football season rolls around! These boys have alot of respect for Coach Hall which makes a huge difference in the off season workouts. Jackson has alot of talent returning but also alot of talent coming up.

Transfer rules are so strict right now that the family has to allow home visits by the school administration AND sign an affidavit that they will remain in the same house within the district for a period of one year or the team could forfeit their entire season. Going of to "live with Grandmaw" no longer gets it. If the family has that much confidence in their kid to sacrifice the expense and effort to make a bona fide move, they must know that the kid has some talent. If families want to move to Jackson, lets welcome them with open arms. If not for sports and an excellent education, what else is left in this town? Go Red!

Hey how about the RB who was a Soph #7 last year. I saw him againist Zville he looked like he was going to be a player in the future done some nice things for a soph. I wish Jackson all the best good luck in SEOAL this year.

Goldenboy you also need to consider what is more important. A workhorse runningback handles the ball 25 - 30 times a game, the quarterback handles the ball 60-70 times (virtually every snap with the occasional direct snap excluded). Most teams put their best athlete at quarterback for this reason. The last sophmore to get the nod at quarterback for Jackson was Jared Humphreys and as great a career as he had, that year was tough for him and the Ironmen.

The way Coach Hall and the rest of the Jackson coaching staff are trying to develop players, there are going to be some all- conference players and possible all-district players that have not even been mentioned in this thread. The era of "inherited starting spots" is now bye-bye.

As it should be Blazer83, When coach Heath hinton was at Wellston he told his players at the end of every season every position is open. This made the kids work hard to keep their position .
Good luck to the Ironmen in 2010.

No longer "inherited starting spots" Love it!! That is the way it should be. Some of those boys without the right name, work very hard to get a spot only for daddy-big-name-and-big-bucks to make friends with the coach and "buy" his boy the starting spot.
That is what makes Coach Hall so likeable in the community he doesnt know your name, family history or financial situation nor do I think he cares. He was a great choice for Jackson!
He and his wife both are very good, wholesome, friendly people.

Coach Hall has been doing a fine job, for example look at last years Jackson's Team they wasnt the most talented in world and it was clear, but coach hall had a system that all of the kids believed in and mostly all of the kids had heart. Coach Hall even said it himself that out of all the schools he has been too Jackson's boys has more heart and will than any of them. And yes we are going to hear well they didnt beat anyone good this past year, well i considered every team they played a worthy opponent, at any point any of those teams couldve beat Jackson imo

i heard that britton johnson might be getting moved to tight end this season. It would be good because he can catch and he has the speed now lets just see how well he can block.

I dont see britton getting moved to tight end, yes he can catch and run. Blocking on the other hand no. The tougher teams D line would eat him up with his size. But we'll see how things turn out. And yes drew is working harder and harder everyday to be the best player possible and hes doing a mighty fine job at it
