for 3rd place trimble and wahama will take the first 2 spots
That's yet to be determined! I agree The Hocking Division runs through Trimble, and Wahama is a strong contender. I think Belpre will be much improved. They finished strong last year. Eastern also returns many starters. The EHS vs Trimble game was close last year. I believe Eastern led 7-6 in the 4th quarter (at Trimble I might add). A couple big plays by Dyla late in the game was the difference. Wahama @ Eastern was also a close game, with Wahama eventually using it's size to win by "scrumming the ball" down the field to chew clock and grind out a win. I'm pretty sure the Branch kid graduated among others, and I know they have some skilled backs returning, but experience is hard to replace. SG has a new coach, major changes at Fed Hock, Southern graduated nine or ten starters. I believe Waterford has some skilled kids returning, and I'm not real sure about Miller.

All I'm saying is while Trimble and Wahama may be the favorites, it's still a ten game season, and anything can happen. Who can say for sure, but I'm looking forward to what I think will be a competitive season!

GO EAGLES!

We have three tailbacks that can start for anyone in the Hocking, A QB with a cannon that can get it done also. We have a few issues on the offensive side, they will be taken care of by game 1 though. Defense is all about effort and attitude, I'm pretty sure the Cats will get 11 guys to the ball in a bad mood. The Mirage Hotel and Casino in Vegas has the Cats as 2/1 favorites to run the table in the Hocking. Good Luck Cats!

The team that tackles and plays DEFENSE wins the Hocking.Agree with Screaming Eagle that the league may be much more interesting this year.Belpre, Eastern,SG,Waterford,Fed HOCK,will have a say in the final league standings. There is only one thing for sure in the HOCKING.When you go to Trimble, the lights will catch on fire, the scoreboard won't work ,or the clock operator will be the first time he or she has ever ran it.(LOL)

Trimble didn't get much of a challenge from any of the current Hocking division competition last year and with what they are bringing back I don't see any reason they would this year either. I know a few teams have been added but with the exception of Wahama I don't think the competition level changed any. N-Y could beat them and maybe Coal Grove ( I don't know much about them this year yet) or Wahama but the rest of the schedule is likely gonna be a walk through again this year for the Tomcats, though if you're really gonna give me 2/1 odds Toe Head I'd certainly think about it.

I think most people are forgetting the big factor in the league this year. Trimble has the best home schedule in the TVC-Hocking.
Trimble has Wahama, Waterford, Belpre, and Federal Hocking at home.
With that said I don't see anyone coming into Glouster Memorial Stadium and knocking them off.
Trimble in this decade is 43-7 in the TVC and has 6 titles.

Dont count out the Cats just yet in the TVC hocking. They looked pretty good tonight beating Athens 14-7 in a half of football.

No one is counting them out. We EXPECT them to win. The only thing in the way is their pass defense whic is obviously the weak point in the defense.

I see Trimble winning the TVC-Hocking but, they will not play a home playoff game. There schedule does not alow them to play a home playoff game. Trimble has a weak schedule. There has only been 2 years that the cats have hosted a playoff game. 2001 & 2004. That year they had one of the roughest schedules in the area. They will only play 4 teams that have a winning record at the end of the year. Nelsonville-York, Eastern, Belpre, Coal Grove. The TVC is too weak to host a game.

Trimble will go 9-1 this year Coal Grove will be tough game but I think the Cats pull it out.

I don't know if they will host or not. That really depends on the rest of the region.

One thing we all know is sometimes the Cats start slow but once they get rolling they are hard to stop.

Did Trimble drop Alexander? Scheduling conflicts from the new TVC Hocking I'm assuming?

Sources close to me from both schools pretty much told me the same story. They both had the same open date, but Alex scheduled and I quote "a more winable game year in year out". To put it bluntly, they was sick of getting beat up on by a D6 school. They do have a really good group of younger kids, who I think is in the 7th grade. They will try to get Trimble on the schedule for their Junior and Senior seasons. Other than that you wont see them on the field together anytime soon.

There is NO FRAKKIN WAY that Trimble will lose to any of these teams and that includes Wahama! No way we give up a TVC title to them EVER!

I expect the Gambler to have a gameplan in place for the ramp eaters and win by 30+ points this fall.

EVER?! Except for 2010, right?................. Its funny stumbling across some of these old archived message board threads. You never know what humor you will come across.
