With a new head coach and a back to the old style of play for the rockets I look for them to be pretty competive this season in the TVC!

depending on what the new coach brings to the vinton county program, this year could be anyone's season. im glad they got that coaching staff out of there. vinton county has played politics for far too long. its about time they got a coach in there that is from outside the county instead of a past VC football player with all his buddies that had no clue what they were doing.

I have yet to meet the new wellston coach, although I actually really liked the last one. I've always known wellston to be somewhat unsportsmanlike when teams play on their field, but seeing that last coach turn that team around was amazing. I even seen them praying in the end zone before and after games win or lose a couple of years ago. I have alot of respect for that last coach.

just_a_Fan_24, Heath Hinton started what you talked about in your post. Jason Mantell continued it. I think that Coach Hutch will also continue it . I think you will see that Hutches teams will be physical and fundamental,and respectful. Larry Blackstone has had a big influence on Hutch, and Larry's teams were always like this. Wellston is headed in the right direction with this hire,Hutch will be here for many years to come.

Hutch has started it out right so far by getting the boys into the weight room from 6th graders that will be 7th graders all the way up to the varsity boys! This is what Wellston has needed for a long time!

With Jayjohn back this year it should give the rockets an edge on off. and def. With the running backs and linebacking core stacked i hope the line can pick it up this year.

Meigs may not have the passing game they have had in the past but they have a full stable of young back's that should be able to pound out 4 -5 yards a carry, Ball control
will be Key, If Meigs can control the Clock they will have a good season, Remember they
played three sophs at linebacker last year, and the bolin kid can stay on the field they be a handfull for anyone they play

Wellston may not win this year or the next but give them time and i do believe you will slowly see them move up and maybe share another title or win one out right

Wellston will win games this year. The Rockets have some good backs that can run the ball ,and you know Hutch will give them the oppritunity to do just that.

I agree Boiler...Wellston will win a few games this year...no question. This year is going to be unlike the past few in where Wellston doesnt have the 'expectation' factor. Not many outside of the locker room think Wellston will be a contender for the League..and some even think they may only pick up a win or two on the year...thats a far cry from the last few years where Wellston was 'expected' to win each and every game. Once they got out to a bad start, it just fell apart. I think this year Wellston will play the underdog/no respect card, and that means the can be dangerous for any team on their schedule. Wellston has the best backs in the TVC. They have talent, and with a new sytem in place by a coach everyone seems to like, they could surpries people this year!

IMO Wellston will win games this year, will they win them all no probably not but with Coach Hutch we can almost garantee these boys will be ready to play each game and will play hard till the end!

I was kinda thinking you guys could finish in the 3-4 spot, But you are right the TVC_OHIO should be pretty even. NY won the league with 7 or 8 sophs starting and they really have come a long way. They should be even better but there is a reason we play the games on the field. I just hope that your new coach has a chance to build something and not get the boot after a couple of years.

Well he said he thinks that Wellston can win the league, not Vinton County

Besides the guy is pulling for his school, can't really say anything bad about that. Do you really think the kids at Wellston are going around saying " boy I hope we go 5-5 this year." No they want to win the TVC-Ohio, There fans should come in with the same expectations to.
