Nice win for the Tigers. I believe Martin lead Waverly with 25. I listened a little on the radio and Waverly jumped out to a big lead in the first half. At one point they were up 30-16.

Two solid wins within 24 hours. Not only is Waverly playing hard they're playing smart. :-D

Congrats Boys! They played hard last night and began to play a lot smarter in the 2nd half of the Valley game. This is a great win to build on for the season.

I heard the halftime score was 37-21 Waverly. Everyone knew Chesapeake would make a run but in the end Waverly persevered. Jake also contributed 24. Kevin Malone once again comes in and plays hard nosed aggressive defense. It seems everyone on this team understands their role. Enjoy the wins!

The road doesn't get any easier for the Tigers. Wheelersburg comes to town next Friday and if Waverly gets by Western a rematch with Piketon looms in the Holiday Classic.

Just got back from the convo, what a great performance from the Tigers with their 2nd game in 14 hours.
Waverly jumped out to a 37-21 halftime lead and held on for the 7 point win. The Tigers were tired by the middle of the 3rd when Peake made their run cutting the lead to 7 at 47-40 after three.
Peake cut it to 5 at 52-47 with 3:15 to play and again at 54-49 with 2:34 to go but the Tigers hit some FT's down the stretch to increase the lead to 10 with .27 to play.

The MVP went to Martin but it was truly a TEAM effort. Kevin Malone stepped up big today with some hardnosed aggressive defense on their main scorer and hit some key FT's down the stretch.

As long as the Tigers play like they have the past two days they will be fine. These guys have been getting after it - KEEP IT UP!

This does not surprise me at all, from what I was told the officiating at Chesapeake against the Burg was terrible, then the Ironton game, not taking anything awy from the Peake, they will win their confernce, but would struggle with the grind that the S.O.C.offers night in and night out.

It always tickles me to hear Wheelersburg complain about getting homered.

Same formula as last night: shut down the big gun and let the others try to beat you. Kevin Malone was tremendous shutting down Copley. Some of the Waverly faithful was afraid of going 0-4 before the Holiday Tournament. 2-1 is acceptable but 3-1 would be sweet.

Wheelersburg has nothing to complain about. The refs did not make them turn it over 30 times against Chesapeake, not to mention that two Chesapeake players fouled out.

I am really disappointed with this team. I do not know if it is coaching or just Chesapeake not executing, but with the talent they have they should not be 1-2.

No shame in losing to Ironton and Waverly.

When your Chesapeake there is shame in losing period. I am not trying to be a jerk, but that is how we were taught under Persin.

I watched this game and I was very impressed with Waverly. It was my first time watching either team this season and I was impressed at how Waverly completely shut down Copley. And I looked through my program and it looked like most of them were Sophomores! Only good things to come from that. This was a good game to watch...I just wish 'Peak wouldve got going in the first half so it wouldve been really down to the wire. Both teams are going to have very successful seasons.

BTW, watching those three little kids from waverly that were water boys playing at halftime was totally worth my $7 in itself! haha...they were amazing.

I wouldn't get down on Chesapeake they will be fine. They have had three tough games the Ironton game could have went either way. They are a good team with a good coaching staff, so why not support them instead of whining.Very few teams are going to go undefeated even Norm already has a loss.

Probably the first quality win out of conference for an SOC 2 team.

There is nothing wrong with being critical when the occassion calls for it. I do support my team and I have been to every game this season, but I do get tired of hearing how great our coaching staff is when the best this staff has done in the past is a district semi-final and now we are 1-2.

I think this team is much better then their 1-2 record, but those are games you need to win to build confidence. Playing in close games are fine when you are finding ways to win. I am not blaming the coaching staff for the last loss. The kids did not look like they were ready to play. You never know how 17-18 year old kids are going to react and play night in and night out, but it is the coaching staff's responsibility to get them prepared.

Expectations are set high at Chesapeake and that is a part of being a coach for the Panthers. You have to deal with high expectations from the fans. I remember when Norm was here after every season we had to hear how the Regional Finals were not good enough. This coaching staff should consider themselves lucky.

I also remember after Norm left you how bad you were. I think this coaching staff has done a good job getting you back in the districts. I still think this team will have a great season.Don't judge the team and coach after three games. See where their at towards the end of the season.
