Its going to be a long season if Logan can't beat Jackson... with or without Patrick.. / Only down 4 at half yet the coaching staff was thrilled to have 19 turnovers at half time . Are you kidding me? You can't make one person the entire team. Year after year its the same song and dance. Talent no coaching ability. Then you bring in a coach that has not been able to hold onto a coaching position for the last 5 years and expect this coach to gel with the players.. Again another year of no chemistry with the coaches... They lost a good coach when Blevins went to Berne Union and they are probably going to loose another.. Its a shame.
There are good players on this team as in years past and we can't beat Jackson? Thats ok we don't need any changes in the program lets just keep it the same... one of these days we may win the League and go a little further in tourn play.... Not until changes are made.... eneough said.

... my hat goes off to Coach Jordan and the Ironmen - great game plan and outstanding execution by the men in Red and White ...

Jackson 72
Logan 65 final

Jackson Napkin Stats :

Scoring ... Winchester 10 /Eric Landrum 9/ Morgan Dobins 7/ Dylan Newsome 22/ Christman 11/ Chapman 15
3's ... 3/13 ... one each for Dobbins/Winchester/Chapman
FT's ... 17/28
Fouls ... 21
TOs ... 24

... the Ironmen's half court pressure and match up zone in the half court forced Logan into 31 TOs ... 18 in the first half alone ... the JHS player of the game has to be Dylan Newsome in this one - wow ... he was a beast on the boards and owned the Chiefs at the offensive end on the baseline ... the senior forward alongside Andrew Christman controlled this one from the 2nd quarter on ... I was impressed with the entire Jackson TEAM in this one - balanced scoring with 4 in double figures ... Coach Jordan kept the Ironmen focused and under control when Logan made runs with the "havoc ball" they want to play this season ... there is a reason Coach Jordan has won 500+ games ...

Logan Napkin Stats

Scoring ... Mays 23/Jordan Rutter 12/ Jared Rutter 9/Dietz 8/ Colegrove 5/ Guess 4/ Montgomery 2/Murphy 2
3's ... 1/9 ... Mays 1
FT's ... 14/24
Fouls ... 23
TO's ... 31

... "Havoc ball" falls to 1-2 ...

Logan won both the Freshmen game and JV contests tonight.

Congrats to the Ironmen on the win. 3-0.

Always tough to get a win in Logan. Thanks for the rundown, pfloyd.

Ihavent seen Logan play any this year, but dont be too hard on them yet. You have to remember that Jordan took over the reins of Jacksons program last year durring the season and he is one of the better coaches around. Jackson basketball is vastly improved.

yea your right about the season is early but logan hasn't won a league title since the conrads were there and i can't remember any significant runs in the tourney.....that was probably one of the sloppiest games ive seen 52 total turnovers?

To say it was a turnover festival is selling it short. Wow, it was truly "havoc ball"

But congrats to Jackson it was a win. And the thing that was best about it was that Logan couldn't out physical and thug Jackson for a win. Over the past couple seasons Logan would be very physical and beat the Ironmen down. For the most part our kids kept their cool when a few body bumps were dished out after the whistle and answered with a bucket. Thought Colt Chapman played well tonight and had some crucial buckets when Logan would make a run.

Good win for Jackson. You could tell Jordan really wanted this one. He knew that was a big game for Jackson in the early season. Jackson scored 72 points....but IMO didn't play anywhere near their best game. No one was hitting from outside....but they got enough turnovers to keep geeting some easier looks. Chapman with 15 points off the bench in about 20 minutes of play. He was all over the court. He made a couple of sophomore mistakes....but it seemed like every possession on defense he either stole the ball, knocked it away at one point or got the rebound. Christman was tremendous but did get into foul trouble and fouled out. Atleast 3 of his fouls were unnecessary and Jackson will need him to avoid those to be in tehgame as much as possible....but he did play a great game. Landrum provided his sparks with a couple of charges, a few steals and a dive out of bounds to start a big fast break. Dobbins got the start and played well on defense and gave great effort on the defensive side 99% of the game.

When is the last time Jackson won at Logan before last night?

I'm pretty sure the Ironmen never won at Katie Smith Gymnasium.

Anyone know for sure?

... Locos - I CAN'T remember the Ironmen ever winning at the Katie - that goes back to 1992 ... Jackson now at 3-0 on the season sitting on top of the SEOAL alongside Gallia, Ironton, Portsmouth ... wow speaking of turning things upside down LOL ... Gallia winning AT Sutton Gym , Jackson winning AT Logan, Portsmouth winning AT Warren THOSE ARE BIG BIG W's to have in your pocket - W's on the road - when you talk league championship chances a team HAS TO "win at home" AND get a few W's on the road ... Jackson/Gallia/Portsmouth picked up MAJOR road wins , the thought of protecting the home turf is a whole lot better than having to travel into any of these gyms to HAVE TO NOW get wins which Logan, Marietta, Warren will need to do ... not meaning to slight Ironton - big win over Chilli in I'town - won't be easy to travel to Chilli to get that win BUT they already are one up on the Cavs with the win last night ... great job by the winners in the SEOAL last night ...

... and for "Al Gore" ... Newark picked up it's first win of the season last night beating Groveport 46-45 ... the combined record of Newark and Lancaster for the 2009-10 season to this point IS ... wait for it .... 1-7 ...not "STATE" CHAMPIONSHIP CALIBER this season AND the enrollment figures for Jackson HS - 301 boys vs LHS 453 ...

Yes it was a great win for the Ironmen on the road. Looks like the SEOAL could be very interesting this year with all teams being competetive. If Logan gets in very many games with the officials calling it tight, half of the team will foul out. I think they forgot that football is over. PFLOYD as always you are a great poster, please keep it up, you speak the truth. Great wins for Portsmouth,Gallia & Ironton. Looks like Jackson and Portsmouth could be a good matchup Tuesday night.
