hmm. Jody Evans? I believe he dunked three times in 1990, against Fayetteville twice and Lynchburg Clay once.

wearetheindians.org has a list of all the dunks in school history before the year 2000. To my knowledge no player has dunked in a game during the 2000's other than Seaman. I was wrong about the career mark, Seaman needs one more.

Thanks, I'll have to check it out. I went to several games back then so I would enjoy looking it up.

No problem, its a pretty good site. I just wish it had stats from the year 2000 to now. :-D

Those stats are being compiled...and we need to get the girls stats together, too. It's a work in progress.

First Peebles dunk was Dave Singer, in 1978, then the Mailman Jody Evans put down 3 in 1990, Randy Meade (1990), and Luke Ogden slammed one down in 1999. Luke and Jason Kremin also won the WRAC slam dunk contest.

And in 1973 George McCoy, Phillip Shoemaker, and Randy Hilterbran, dunked in warmups, and we started off the game with technicals because we didn't realize there were officials on the floor. (I've been told this is roughly what happened...some details might be wrong).

You're right...Peebelians do keep records of everything.

And there is a 2-hour documentary that mentions all of this and more...just sayin'

Thanks.

Updated SHL standings (although since it's not tiered by league, it's more of a "records of teams that happen to be in the SHL chart")

Team - W - L - SHL - STREAK - PCT.

ESB / 5-0 / 1-0 / W5 /1.000
PEB / 4-0 / 2-0 / W4 / 1.000
MAN / 3-2 / 1-2 / L1 / .600
WHK / 3-3 / 1-2 / L1 / .500
FRD / 2-2 / 2-0 / W2 / .500
LYN / 2-2 / 2-0 / W1 / .500
RIP / 1-2 / 0-2 / L2 / .333
FAY / 1-4 / 0-2 / L3 / .200
WU / 0-2 / 0-2 / L2 / .000
NA / 0- 5 / 0-2 / L5 / .000

I'm in town Sunday, see everyone at the holiday tournament. Boom.

you know, i go away back with peebles basketball and sports, and although my health keeps me from attending a lot of games this year, i do not remember three t,s in a warmup in 73. nor do i remember a dunk in 78. i am not saying it did not happen, just that i don't remember them. congrats to the seaman boy on his two dunks, i know his family is very proud of him and his efforts on and off the floor. peebles has a very good ballclub this year and the best coach around. good luck to them the rest of the season.

The dunk happened at Latham in 78...now the 3 ts...I can't verify. Though it's not in the documentary, 2 people from that team told me the story. So while I believe it happened, here's no way of knowing exactly when. There were 4 or 5 guys on hat team that could dunk, so maybe it was more t's than that. :)

Is that 2 dunks for Seaman this year? Cox from Fairfield has dunked it several times in game.
7th grade - 2 times
8th Grade - even though he went to Greenfield for this one year he dunked it twice in one game
Sophomore- just once
Junior- he has alreay has had one dunk in which i thought he was going to tear the rim off

Cox is a very nice athlete, but at 6'6" or 6'7" should not be much of a challenge for him to dunk, whereas Seaman at 6'1" seems more challenging. Not taking anything away from Chris and hope he has a great year for Coach Carson and the Lions.

Seaman was also a regional qualifier in the high jump with minimal form or practice.

Yes that is 2 through 4 games for Seaman so far this year(He also had one against South Webster in a scrimmage). Cox was like 15 in the 7th grade and is now about 6'6" so it is very impressive for someone who is barely over the 6' mark to be getting up as high as he is.

Instead of taking cheap shots at kids, why not just be happy that the SHL is blessed with many great athletes?

Chris seemed taller than that when I watched him. I remember watching him in warm ups, he could dunk on the lay up and then step back and nail a 3 pointer. Normally kids who get that big at that age are somewhat awkward but he sure wasn't. Very talented player.
