gahs4ever wrote:Hey Turk.....I was 27350 also. When were you in and where were you stationed? Were you manual site or at a computerized Direction Center? I was at Madison, WI, Syracuse, NY and Topsham, ME. It was at Maine that we had the weekly flights over the pole from our Russian friends.

I was scheduled to take my 7 level test but passed on it because I was getting out and didnt want to take the chance of taking a stripe from someone who was staying in.

I was at the manual sites, visited the SAGE (Semi-Automatic Ground Environment) centers but was never stationed at one.
Radar sites were Tyndall in Florida......... Santa Rosa Island, California........Bellefontaine, Ohio.............Lockport, New York...........Thule, Greenland (BMEWS, Ballistic Missile Early Warning)..........Murphy Dome, Alaska.........NORAD(North American Air Defense Command and SpaceTrack Center), Colorado Springs................ with a 3-year stint as a Spacetrack Instructor mixed in the middle of all this.....1958 to 1978..........

Had a good friend who was a Security Cop from Machias, Maine by the name of Johnny Roach stationed on Santa Rosa Island. He played football for Oak Hill or Jackson, cant remember right now which one........

Mom, just curious is that Morse code versus Morris code...........I am very familiar with Morse code and I am wondering if that might just be a little spelling mistake or is there something called Morris code.........

I had a cot out in the back of where the nice people drop off donations to veterans for about 6 months, until they caught me taking all the can foods.
