Re: Athens at Alexander
If Bulldogs play like they did against Gallipolis last Saturday, Spartans may be in for a big surprise.

Re: Athens at Alexander
This should be a great game ... Vinton County are still the "KINGS" of the TVC-Ohio - and from what I here about their win at the convo (51-38) over John Glenn - they are very good again this year.
Although, a 77-66 win over Trimble (0-4) wasn't too impressive by the Vikes ... but the 'Cats play hard and seem to be getting better and better with each game.
But about Athens and Alex ... My guess is the winner will end up being the front runner to challenge the Vikings for TVC-Ohio supremecy ... Big problem for the Bulldogs though is the location of Friday's game ... there might not be a tougher place to play in this area than 'THE ALLEY!' ... It woudn't surprise me if the Spartans win - but if Athens can slow it down and use their size like the NY Buckeyes did Vs Alexander during their 59-52 triumph - then the 'Dogs have a chance.
RECENT ACTIVITY:
(4-0, 2-0 TVC-Ohio) Nelsonville-York 59
(4-1, 1-1 TVC-Ohio) Alexander 52 ............. (That game was @ Nelsonville-York on Tuesday)
(3-1, 1-0 TVC-Ohio) Athens 57
(1-2, 0-2 TVC-Ohio) Wellston 30 ............... (Game was @ Athens on Tuesday)

This is going to be a great game tonight. I only hope that this is a clean, well played, well officiated game. You don't always get that home or away. I'm going with my Bulldogs by at least 5. Let's go to the "alley" bulldogs, and battle for a win.!!!!

Re: Athens at Alexander
Final score was Athens 44, Alexander 37. Athens played very good defense and had a great game plan for the Spartans. You can tell Coach Skinner is doing his homework and making necessary adjustments according to his players' strengths and the opponents' tendencies. Great job. Keep up the hard work.

Re: Athens at Alexander
What a great game. The game was not decided until 10 seconds to play. 18 all at the half, Alex comes out scores the first six points of the second half, and from there the Bulldogs came right back. A great road win early in the season. Avenges the 32 point beatdown at Alex last year.
Bulldogs road gets no easier, next Tuesday at Vinton County.

Sounds like a great game. From what I've heard the Bulldogs have times when there D is lockdown. Should be a good game when my Eagles head to the Plains.
Re: Athens at Alexander
... congratulations to Coach Skinner & the Bulldogs in getting the job done on the road vs Alex ... let's see WITH "havoc ball" a 32 point loss last season , WITH "real basketball" a solid road win ... nice job Coach Skinner & Co.

Congratulations, Bulldogs. You earned it! Alex aint easy to beat at home, and it aint gettin any easier heading into Valhalla.
Re: Athens at Alexander
Congratulations to the Bulldogs and Coach Skinner. What a well played, well controlled, and well coached game. AThens did just what they needed to do, play under control. Definitely something not in last year's game plan. (I noticed that too, Pfloyd ) Way to go Bulldogs! Now wrap your mind around VC. Let's get the job done one team at a time.

Re: Athens at Alexander
Athens seems to be a good team this year. I thought they would improve over last years team but I didn't think they would be playing this well until the end of the season.
Re: Athens at Alexander
I was very impressed how Athens handled themselves when they were at Jackson....from the head coach down to the freshman players....classy
