Jackson @ Portsmouth
Two teams coming off big road wins, should be interesting. Lets hear some thoughts!!!!!!!!!!
Re: Jackson @ Portsmouth
Is Horne back? Portsmouth started off rough I thought and now seem as one of the best the past 2 games....something is different.
At Portsmouth Jackson lost 100-63 last year.....the same Jackson team that began 0-8...and then beat Portsmouth
Should be interesting.

i seen portsmouth play home v.s. south webster then @ wheelersburg; what a difference the new coaching staff has done in a short period of time, IMO the coachs have changed there gameplan to where the kids have a chance to be successful. if the trojans play like they did at wheelersburg and warren they could go on a good run this year
Re: Jackson @ Portsmouth
So far this season Jackson has shown it is a very good team...if they can pick up another big win on the road in the SEOAL, i think they position themselves as an elite team the league. Jackson did turn it around halfway into last season..If they can hold serve this season....watch out Seoal..and watch out Logan sectional!!
Re: Jackson @ Portsmouth
I wish Jackson was in the Logan sectional, they were switched with Logan Elm and moved to the Southeastern sectional. Usually when the district board moves teams they re-align sectionals, but this year they were the only two teams switched. Coach Jordan and the Ironmen will have a tougher time coming out of this sectional but he will get to coach in Larry Jordan Gymnasium.

Re: Jackson @ Portsmouth
Looking forward to this game back from a short road trip against Wheelersburg and Warren. I hope the fan fair will be there as I believe this game could garner a lil more buzz to the feel of this team. I don't think expectations of the fans have been there yet but if we can pull a couple more wins out before the new year and even into the new year it could set the tone for an exciting run under coach collins. What we've come to expect from this team thus far is Tre Underwood to be our most consistent player. Followed by Wayne Evans and Forrest Johnson. Everything else has been gravy. We started the season pressing yet have backed away from that somewhat, we'll see if that's still the formula Geno stays with, with more half court sets. I have a feeling we haven't pressed much because of depth issues, i dunno. We've buttered our bread mainly with a pressure zone (1-2-1, I believe) which has caused a good amount of turnovers. I've seen 2 games in person this year. That being the South Webster game and the Wheelersburg game. Grading both games, I'd give the South Webster game a D+, while the Wheelersburg game as far as effort goes a B-. Neither truly acceptable but IMO if we're on our A game we win games in the SEOAL consistently. And we can compete with anybody with a B level game. I have a feeling we win this game big. Hope the effort is there throughout.

Re: Jackson @ Portsmouth
I have been to all 4 games so far, and felt that without question that the Trojans' best performance was clearly at Warren........after the first quarter, trailing 19-10, PHS outscored the previously undefeated Warriors 65-50 the rest of the way.......and their offense looked like a fine oiled machine.......in addition the Trojans were clutch from the FT line down the stretch.
This Jackson game is the start of 4 consecutive home SEOAL games for Portsmouth, so if the Trojans are to contend for the league title, they must take care of business on their home court.........and with their performance this past week, it is very possible.
Jackson is very much improved but I thought they would be with 4 starters back and Larry Jordan coaching them.......the Ironmen already have a good win on the road vs. Logan.

The Ironmen are hungry for RESPECT that has not been there for sometime. I believe they will avoid the ASSASSINATION attempt from the Trojans on their home floor, and roll to another SANDY,POLEY, BIRDIE VICTORY!!!!!!!!!

I'll pray it's not the same 3 refs that did the Portsmouth/Jackson girls' varsity game in Portsmouth.
