This should be a dandy of a game - being in McArthur, I have to give the Vikings the upper hand ... Plus, they are the 'Kings' of the TVC-Ohio and will be until their defeated.

Luckily, I get to cover this game and won't even mind the long drive ...

Good luck to both teams; hopefully it will be a good one.

The last home loss was to Waverly last season on 2/7 (50-55) but it was a regularly scheduled game.

Previous to that they lost in a re-scheduled game at home to Huntington Ross on 12/28 in 07-08 by a 57-61 count.

In the 05-06 season the Vikings lost to Nelsonville-York (54-55) on a last second prayer shot and also to Alexander (47-53) after beating them earlier in the season by 16 points (59-43) at Alex.

Four home losses in four years, now that is definitely sweet.

Something else to think about is this. If VC goes undefeated in the TVC agian this year the senior class would have never lost a TVC game in their career. Thats a pretty amazing stat. The last time VC lost a TVC game these seniors were in the 8th grade!!

Yes it was I was at that game. It was supposed to be played at the Convo, but it was rescheduled @ VC.

My mistake  I didnt make the game and I was under the impression that it was at OU. Apparently, VC has had more home losses than I thought. Not bad having 3-4 home losses in 4 years.

Thanks Bluegrass. I was at the Huntington game also and I thought I was going a bit daffy there for a moment.

My memory does slip at times.

Sorry, Bubba. Apparently my memory slipped alot. Some of my stats , Im finding out, were way off, some of it due to the fact that from 04-06, I worked 3rds, and from late 06-early 08, I went back and forth from 2nds to 3rds.

According to a few posts they mite be..I dont see VC losing by 10 points. I dont see them losing at all. Like i said before..i just cant get the 26 point loss to Jackson out of my head... We will see tomorrow night just how good each of these teams are. I think they have both proven to be the top two teams in the league so far this season...so this game could go a long way at deciding the TVC championship..imo.

The Dogs were terrible that night, and Jackson was superb. Obviously Skinner and his boys have learned a lot from that night and have moved forward nicely so far.

I don't believe anyone is underestimating the Vikings. I think they will do very well this year. As a Bulldog Fan, I have to go with my Bulldogs. I definitely think it will be a close one and in no way will VC score over 70 pts. The Bulldogs are too patient and have better D than that. The Jackson game was a wake up call for the dogs, they can't just go through the motions, they must follow the game plan to perfection, which they have done since. You can't forget, these two teams have played two close games last year. Each team is essentially the same, however the bulldogs have a coach with a plan this year, unlike last year. I'm taking my dogs by 5.

You cant base this years outcome on last years results. Last year Whitten was the player that VC had trouble with. He kept the Dogs in the game @ VC and I believe he was also trouble for the Vikes in Athens. And I honestly think VC is a much improved team this year. This will be a statement game and the Vikes will once again control the TVC Ohio. I dont think VC will score 70, but they wont have to IMO. I say the Vikes by 10+.

You really have to ignore the Jackson/Athens game. Yes, Jackson won by 26....but they were on fire and everything was working it seemed.

IN comparison that just doesn't work Huntington knocked off Piketon and then lost to Southeastern.....Southeastern has lost by 40 to Peebles (similar in talent and ability as Piketon) and then lost to winless West Union by 14.

VC should win.....but Athens is well-coached as well and out to prove something it appears after the Jackson beating.

Those two losses in 05-06 cost Vinton County the TVC-Ohio that year. Alexander went into Macarthur with a bunch of shaved heads and avenged the early season loss. Alexander went 9-1 in the TVC-Ohio that year. Alex also beat VC in 04-05 with the same core group of kids...those were some GREAT games...

Good luck to both teams! Happy Holidays!!!

VC has scored in the high 70's 3 out of 4 games this year. (79, 77, 78)--2 of those were on the road. I think VC will do the same tonight just like last year against the bulldogs. I look for an up-tempo game and if VC hits the open and inside shots...they score 70 easy. VC has also missed many inside shots so far this year, so if they were firing on all cylinders, those could easily be 80's and 90's. This is a make or break game for Athens imo and with Eastern coming to Athens next weekend...it doesnt get any easier! If Athens can beat VC and Eastern (top teams in each division), then they would be the top dog in the TVC..no question about it.
