Eagles73-If you are referring to Harrison Martin as 1 of the 2 players that will end up playing at the next level in basketball, I beg to differ.
Harrison does have the talent to play at the next level on the hardwood, but is twice the baseball player. I believe that is where his heart is also.
Nice to have the option of either basketball or baseball, but there is no way Martin won't wind up on the diamond when his college career begins.

Nice to have a choice! lol He has the talent to play at the next level in basketball, plus something that most dont have and that is height. Now if his choice is baseball, more power to him for taking any sport to the next level. I stand behind my statement that this tourney is Waverlys to lose. Not too many people giving them props, I will. Piketon is solid, and can win it and I hope they do, but if I had to put money on it, I would place it on the Tigers. Eastern as well could win it, Western, even though I have many family members from their and a cousin who plays just arent at the same level as the other three. Should be exciting either way, but Lets Go Streaks.

My membership here in the Village is just fine thank you! Soccerfix, I bleed Scarlet and Gray, but I can have an honest opinion cant I? I just dont see Piketon being a big time favorite. Can they win it, sure! Will they, if I knew that I wouldnt be living in Piketon now would I! LOL I would be in Vegas living the high life.

Kids, Kids, Kids! Waverly is the favorite....especially since Piketon will be without Southworth who is averaging a "double-double". Last year is last year....Piketon has a different team with a different personality. I commend them for changing the way they play this year compared to last. How do you lose scoring power like they did last year, and turn around and lead the area in scoring through 7 games this year? Eastern is not bad, they play hard, and could create some problems for anyone. Western is struggling a little, I don't think they can compete with Waverly. With that being said...and knowing the history of this tournament......should be interesting for the fans early! Don't count out the Streaks......they start 4 Juniors all started or played major minutes last year......they know how to win....without contridicting myself (last year is last year) these kids are 31-5 over the last two seasons......they know how to win!

The great thing about this Classic is that everyone family and friends get together for two great nights of basketball.
Enjoy all. See you there.

His game is actually played on Jan 2. He is down there all week for practices and other events that are associated with the All Star game. So I do not think he will be back on Wed.

I will say Eastern beats Piketon by 5 or so
Waverly beats Western by like 20 or something around there

then piketon over western by like 15 to 20

Eastern over Waverly by 3

I noticed that! I am relatively new to this site and see this is where all the action is at. This is definitely my new place for SE Ohio sporting news and updates. You make me feel dirty and sleazy for posting on the other site! LOL

The time is nearing for the young men of the county to hit the hardwood and play for county bragging rights. The Christmas turkey and ham has been eaten and all the presents have been opened. The adults grumbling about the commercialization of the season and yet another year of purchases that exceeded the planned budget! (I am anyway)

The trophy has been polished to a high luster and is awaiting to see if it will find a new annual home away from the village of Piketon. It seems to like it in that trophy case and the Streaks will not relinquish control easily or without a fight.

Game plans have been established and now it is time to execute them. The fans have anticipated this event and will be there supporting their teams in full school pride and colors.

Here's to some hard fought, injury free ball games filled with good sportsmanship and excitement for all of the county of Pike to enjoy.

Oh yeah......Go Eagles!
