The outbreak is not bacterial meningitis, it's viral. Viral meningitis isn't the serious kind. In fact, it doesn't even require a hospital stay. Many people don't realize that there are bacterial and viral forms and that the bacterial form is the one you really should fear.

I'm not saying they should play but as far as level of seriousness, this is no different than having ball games during flu season.

Coal Grove has 3 players that were diagnosed with viral meningitis. They are out of the hospital and have been cleared by doctors to return to school. One boy must wait until next week to resume playing, but the other two have been cleared by their doctor. The Ironton Tribune reported today that their were 10 cases in the entire district k-12.
