I wouldn't put money on any game. the best game could be the 1 vs 8. Vinton better score 80

The best is going to be ...

(4) Sheridan 78
(5) Athens 79 (OT)

I'll have to make a trip to Thornville to see what Sheridan has

Athens will have a few common opponents. Sheridan played New Lex twice, and then Morgan - who Athens plays next Tuesday.

You better keep your eye on Logan Elm and Coach Stiverson . Do not think they can go far in Tourney but they might ruin someones party.

Logan Elm has one of the top players in the district in Ridge Young, but their consistency on offense and defense are both concerns heading into the tournament.

I'd like to see them in person. They look to have some decent sophomores

5. Athens 12-6

Fairfield Union wins 81-40 tonight. I think they are finally healthy again. They were clicking on all cylinders tonight. Hoping for that no 2 seed.

Yea, New Lex is a pretty good 9 seed.

You could go down the line and say every single team is good compared to where its seeded!

Poor Meigs. They are just a few boys over - and float back and forth between D2 and D3.

They would be fighting for a top 3 or 4 seed in Jackson right now as opposed to a possible 'play in game' in Logan. That is crazy.

Yeah it sucks, and as of right now we have 8 more boys added from the last enrollment figures and looking like we will stay in D2 unless they change the numbers in the Divisions.

Competitive balance kicks in next year. It may be enough to drop you back down, I dont know.

Im not sure how that whole system works yet.

Just looking at some numbers and assuming Meigs will face Fairfield Union.

Fairfield Union 17-2
Meigs 11-8

FU Points 1,089.....57ppg
Meigs Points 1,097....63ppg

FU Opponent Points 796...42ppg
Meigs Opponent Points 1098....58ppg

I know it's not apples to apples, because I'm sure Fairfield Unions schedule is much tougher than Meigs
However Meigs has held their own against #6 State ranked Vinton County not once, but twice.

Fairfield Union knocked us out of the tourney last year by the score of 59-47

In this game Luke Musser played with an ankle injury and had 0 points
We were out rebounded 39 to 27

Not sure who all they lost, I know their big man Colin Woodside and Thomas Green hurt us bad.

I think our Defense is better this year and If we can get our scorers shooting well, I think we stand a pretty good chance.

Of course all this is void if FU isn't #2 and we aren't #7...LOL

As well as you played VC both games - perhaps a No. 8 or No. 9 would actually benefit the Marauders?

Tough to beat a team three times.

Only downfall is you have to win a playin first - and given the strength of this sectional - that may not be the best plan. lol

I would honestly feel better being the 8 or 9 and getting a win to go on against VC, But the good thing about playing some of these teams we haven't played before and doesn't know us that well is they don't go against our defense very often and it can surprise people, that was our huge advantage playing in Tennessee, those teams never seen a defense like ours and wasn't prepared for it.
