As if nobody has noticed. The reason Peebles doesn't make a big tourney run is we aren't deep enough.How do we get deeper? Maybe jerk your starters earlier!I think it is all sbout PADDING THEM STATS, maybe they are trying to get more college looks at certain players.All i know is when tourney time comes, you better be able to play 32 minutes and i don't see that at O.U.. We all seen what happened against Ironton 2 years ago and against Z.T. last year!

Where in the rules does it say when you are up by20,30 or even 40 points that you must take your starters out? It's the opposing teams job to stop them from scoring. I've seen games where the subs extended the lead worse than the starters.

We put the bench in the last 3 minutes of the game except for Andy Countryman and Blake Justice who were mainly there to handle the ball. We played everyone on the bench except for 2 underclassmen who played all 4 quarters of the JV game earlier. The score didnt change when the bench was cleared so everyone needs to end this discussion.

Are you guys serious?? This is VARSITY basketball. Get over it, John Lawhorn is NEVER going to take valuable playing time away from his players, and any playing time is valuable playing time. I am not the least bit ashamed to watch my team dominate. KEEP PLAYIN HARD BOYS!!

I'm not saying that Peebles was wrong in how they ended the game it's up to the coach in how to sub players in and every coach has their critics.

Yes John has lived in the Peebles area for about 10 years. Luckily Sinking Spring is where he is from and we are lucky enough to have him as coach.

I am gonna have to side with followthru on this one! If you notice Justice is not one of the primary ball handlers against a press. In the final minutes of the game he is, so he can draw the quick fouls (good call followthru on Padding Them Stats).

Yeah whoever said that to sparky is definitely wrong about who they are talking about. And to comment on this topic about running up the score. When NA drilled Peebles Copas' senior year, I remember very clearly how upset Peebles fans were. The sad part about it was that Coach Young got some phone calls containing death threats. I also know that Coach Brewer got some phone calls after the game the other night talking about payback. Nice Peebles fans.

And back to the original point, Peebles pulled their starters long before Corey broke the record, but he stayed in. (It was one heck of a shooting performance though.)

As for the death threats, it's the first I've heard of it, but a few idiots with *68 on their phones don't speak for everyone in Peebles.

i can't remember which coach it was but he had just won the national championship in a fairly tight game and had been to the final four the year before. he was having a conversation with one of the school's biggest boosters and the last words out of the booster's mouth were "there for a minute i thought you were going to blow it again."

when peebles was on their big winning streaks in the 80's who was their coach? what coach has the longest tenure at peebles?

stephen3108, during that game you are referring to, I believe not only did NA have at least 3 starters in during the 4th quarter, they were pressing but it really doesn't matter. As for death threats, come on now, do you really expect us to believe that crap. And calls to West Unions coach referring to paybacks....that doesn't even make 1 iota of sense....Peebles would have nothing to pay West Union back for?? At least try to make sense.

just last week i saw west virginia blow a 10 point lead in the last minute and had to go to overtime to stay undefeated. of course that didn't last much longer. didn't the bulls blow a 35 point lead a couple of weeks ago?

Hoopin is correct about Myers being the coach. I'm not sure about the playing time during last years game vs. West Union. I do remember them winning that game by about 40.
