Re: Fayetteville at Peebles new date & time
i look for the indians to come out and make a statement tonight against the rockets. its there first home game of the season pulling off some pretty easy wins minus the ripley game. playing at home tonight will give peebles that extra boost for the season look for a packed house and look for andrew seaman to drop 25+ tonight only needing 12 for his 1000 point. goodluck indians

Andrew had 24 and as a whole Peebles didnt play well at all, only winning by 10 points(65-55, I think). As a bright spot to this ugly win, Peebles is now 7-0 on the season and atop the SHL.

Re: Fayetteville at Peebles new date & time
During the Art Meyers era he would play his sophomores 2-3 quarters reserve and 1-2 varsity. This is why you see some of these great past PHS players barely crack 1000 points. We have been fortunate too have some really good players and by the looks of it plenty of more on the way.As far as the three point shot.I personally watched Marc Kremin drop 63 points in a independent game against Brett Roberts (first round draft pick of the Boston Celtics)when he was 19 or 20.

there were several players that played at the varsity level as sophmores during that era, and before. to name a few, b. sowards, t. myers, k. copeland, the justice boys, m. kremin ( one under meyer) two years under j. trainer, i believe d. smalley, and there may have been one or two more, sorry if i didn't mention them. before that era, it was, j. ryan, c. reed, and more before that. although you need all the points you can get to win games, a lot of players contributed in a lot of others ways, like getting the pass to the scorers, playing defense, controlling the tempo, few turnovers, quickness, assists, and i feel one of the most important is rebounding. hard to score without a lot these. i have mentioned a few of the unsung hero's, and i know there are more. oh yes i believe there might have been a robertson boy in there in the 70,s not real sure if he played as a soph. or not, but he sure could jump.
Re: Fayetteville at Peebles new date & time
I think Marc played partial JV as a sophomore, or at least he didn't start; he only played one year under Trainer.
Art also had a lot of good players, so he had the luxury of keeping kids down to develop. We weren't rich with talent whenever Blake and Andrew started as freshmen. (Not that these 2 boys needed to stay down to develop...Blake scored 46 his first night wearing a varsity jersey).
Whitey Daulton also saw varsity playing time as a sophomore, if I remember right.

Didn't Smalley go for 47 or 49 points in Whitoeak's old gym....in the late, late 70's?
Re: Fayetteville at Peebles new date & time
48, breaking Joe Ryan's old mark of 42, set against Georgetown in 1974 (PHS lost the Georgetown game, but Joe scored 26 in the last quarter...that's one man who HATED to lose).

Guess I was pretty close. lol He seems to always remember that story when I see him....I guess I need to remember the number better.
Peebles has some Rio Grande connections for sure.

i stand corrected on the on kremins playing for trainer for 2yrs, it was 1. i was pretty sure he started as soph. though, when daulton was a senior. yes j. daulton was one of the ones that i forgot, he did start as soph. i may have missed one or two more, i hope not.

Smalley was on the JV team during Lawhorn's early years at Rio I think.

kremin didn't play full varsity until 10th-12th game of his sophomore year until branscome came down with an illness.it was almost impossible to play 4 years of varsity back then.
